Yes!   Beryl Bainbridge was one of my predictions!   When do I get my prize?  ;D

I liked it very much, especially the beautiful strat sound and the fast tempo, but the down side for me was the rather repetitive lyric.   It reminded me, in parts, of Behind With The Rent.

I wonder if MK was thinking about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and his own omission, when he wrote the song?   :think

Can someone make a mp3 from the song and send it to me? Want to have it on my Phone, in my car, on my iPad  :)
Thanks in advance!

Song reminds me of:

- Early Bird (the singing part
- behind with the rent (intro)
- miss you bad (bo walton song)
- we can get wild (organ)

But it's a nice one! Hopefully the album version will be longer then. This one is very very short.

Cool song,
It reminds me Chris Rea & JJ Cale.
At least, no flute ou pipe on this song  ;D
They got a name for people like you, yeh they do

Any chances they will listen to us again just like with cover and will remove this unnecessary organ part from the song? ;D

I agree with.

About the text.

A premise: that Mark know how to write, I think, is out of the question.

The lyrics of the song, however, appears very thin and repetitive. I see two possible interpretations.

Mark has decided to write a "Radio" song (you know that the simpler songs are successful on the radio); however, given the argument, it seems unlikely.

The other possibility is that the song is deliberately dry and repetitive to give greater effect to his disagreement with what Mark sees as an injustice (or better a stupid behavior). A sort of invective.  The posthumous awards have always taste of repair, of missed opportunity.

I prefer  ;D to favor this second interpretation

Looking forward to hearing the audio in much better quality. I'm normally not too snobby about these things, but the drums sound like mush.
Nice driving Strat sound and double vocal though. :)
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

The first riff sounds like the beginning of the solo on TLWNF! Only this is not played with a pick.

I have only listened to the song twice and already it is resonating in my head, which for me is usually not a good thing!   I prefer songs to grow on me, especially in the case of MK's songs - those are the ones which become long-time favourites.   I feel it will be a skipper for me when the album is released.   Nice enough song, though!
