Title: Best of Tracker Tour 2015
Post by: brickbat on June 05, 2017, 08:18:29 PM
Did you guys notice there's a Best of Tracker 2015 (Best of North America) compilation available in the MK webshop, containing "A curated playlist of the best performances from the Tracker 2015 tour". I wonder if Mark himself was involved in the choice of the live tracks for this Best of- compilation. If yes, then this is the closest we can get to an official live album of the Tracker tour.

Mk is not involved at all. I bet MK doesn't know that it exists.

Unless it is remixed with overdubs we will not get a new official live CD/DVD/BD.  That is my firm opinion.

To correct mistakes in singing or playing. MK usually does not overdubs, but uses little parts from other versions to cover the mistakes, like for example, "Solid Rock" on the Alchemy record, the 99% of the song was recorded on July 23rd 1983, except the last few seconds of the song that were "mixed" with the same seconds from the day before, because on the 23rd Terry did a hugh mistake on drums at the end.

Just what I meant.  Thanks Jbaent.

Just like to add though that these days the album would require a little more work!  So much so that it wouldn't be worth doing.

My interest has been sparked! Is there any recording of this original mistake? I'd love to hear it! Very curious!

why not make it available as a physical recording as well?

Not to press this topic too much, but I believe Mark will be aware of any sound recording that's being sold through his web store. We are not talking about scarfs, badges, posters, stickers and T-shirts here :-), but a fully fledged compilation of best-of live recordings! Also, by selling it as a digital download instead of a physical recording (cd/vinyl) extra production costs can be avoided.
I was intriguedby the phrase "a curated playlist of the best performances", which indicates that somebody inside of Mark's camp must have gone through all the available concert tapes (sound files I should say) and pick the best from these. Perhaps Guy can shed a light on this?

Didn't they do this for the Privateering tour as well?
