I think we would all agree that these are classic songs and they are no doubt very much a part of why we all love MK.

It just gets a bit much hearing them again and again and again tour after tour.

The 2006 tour with Emmylou provided a welcome break to me, and I remain of the view that Speedway worked as an epic finale before the encores and that TR should be dropped, if only for the next tour to give us a break.

Back on topic, listening to Cologne today and it has a very, very good version of Coyote, Glenn's bass sounds great.

Exactly - and that is why (for example) he should do CMG more often...  he has the experience, he has the top skilled musicians, he has an impressive musical catalogue of songs, if he cannot improvise, nobody can   :D
He just need to go in clinch with his own control freak aspect... as where to do what and why  ;D

I clearly remember in Denmark in 1992, which described in another thread, but he came out alone in front of 25.000 in the break and did "Singing In The Rain" - "Ole, Ole, Ole" ..... just do something we do not exspect...  never seen anything like it since.
Cheers Peter

Hard one...

Maybe SOS was the second and third night even better... At this moment, I still has only 29 june (tuesday)
so nothing to compare. But I'm sure all 3 Amsterdam concerts are really good!

I must say Helsingborg is really good. Slightly better than Luxembourg.

Disagree. :)

Although interesting that MK says before Speedway that it was written about a Swedish person. Has he ever said that before? Do we know who he is talking about?

It's the first time I have ever heard him say anything at the beginning of SAN.

But I think that Sultans, WII, Coyote and Border Reiver were really strong in Helsingborg.

Yes, I think we do. It was told that MK is (good) friends with Sweden's race driver Stefan Johanson, and that his stories about his racing life inspired the song.

I just listened to GL from Wien and I would suggest that this version will be a serious competitor for the title.

Another though, seem that shorter version of HFB generally provide better solo than the longer one - just an impression  I had earlier and that the Wroclaw/Wien comparison strenghtened.

Luxembourg has in my opinion the best european setlist so far.
With Donegan,WAM and CMG. Still not perfect.

Cologne is not so good because the band seemed tired.
Oberhausen is far better.

Let's wait for Italy and Spain...

I have to say, speedway sounds fantastic this tour. In 2001, 2005 it lacked sometimes some energy, since John plays violin it's better but the GL tour speedway is awesome! ;D

I'll check after the tour, maybe I'll buy another recording (depending on the setlist). Would like to have a nice version of a night in summer long ago and get lucky. :)

My suggestion for the best recording so far: the Paris show. The overall soundquality of the simfy-recording is by far the best I
