Simfy recordings. Anybody else noticed?
« on: October 13, 2010, 08:51:09 PM »
Something has been bugging me for a while and I wondered if anybody has noticed. The backing vocals are in the wrong place. I mean you can hear Matt in your right ear and Guy in your left. It's not so obvious with the other instruments but I think they are where they should be (ie the flute on the right ear).

No big deal but strange...

The Solution:

Put your right earphone into your left ear... And your left earphone into your right ear..

Or switch the speakers from your stereo :lol

Or I could stand on my head while listening through speakers!  ;D
Seriously, I have had a close listen and the other instruments are definitely coming from the correct side (bass on the left and flute on the right). Very strange....

And they are in the right place...

If you are on the stage, playing in front of the audience, Matt is at your right, and Guy at your left. Is like to be in a mirror, to us Matt is at the left and Guy on the right, but to them is Matt who is at the right and Guy at the left.

As easy as that.

Nice! I must say that one of my favorite perks of my career has been getting to work with musicians and music. Of course Mr. TMDR was one of them. At around the same time in the late
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

He probably means this nice little project:
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...

Yes, "very sweet", but shouldn't the last three posts be in "Mark Knopfler Collaborations" with the Thomas Dolby stuff ?    ;)   ;D

Thanks but if that was the case and meant to be heard as if I was on stage, then the flute would be on the left and the fiddle on the right. But they are not, that's what is strange!
