I'm not an expert but I don't think walking back is a viable option, it's quite far.
 Plus it will be dark and you won't be taking photos. :)

Looks like my hotel is 8 minute by foot from Glasgow central. I can drop you off there if you absolutely want to walk or you can continue the ride.

Looking at transport links to the venue it seems the best mode is by bus, from the city centre anyway.  What are you guys doing about dinner before the concert - having it in the city centre then getting the bus to the venue?  The Counting House is a good pub near St Vincent Street where buses depart from and they serve decent meals at good value.  Also they don't play any music so it's good for conversation.
