Hey Jackal, I believe that the music pattern of "Beyond here lies nothin'" sounds more like "Further on up the road" than the songs you mention. What do you think?

Haven't done an in-depth side-by-side comparison of the two, so can't really point out exactly where they differ, but my first thought is that Further On Up The Road has a shuffle/boogie kind of beat whereas Beyond Here Lies Nothin has a more straight beat. Beyond Here Lies Nothin has also definitely a more minor-key feel to it. So, no, I don't really see the similarities, except that they both are blues songs.

I wouldn't say cooler, but it's most definitely one of my favourites with the NHB!  There's a wonderful version from Ronnie Scott's, Birmingham - 15th July, 1998!   :)

I've said it before, but I'll gladly repeat myself. Those NHB concerts are in my opinion settings where Mark really shines. He's more relaxed as he doesn't have to be the main attraction and carry the show alone so to speak. The interaction and banter on stage are of course too just excellent, I think mainly because the guys are equal. When Mark is doing solo shows, he can joke with the guys, but they can't joke back. I guess they could, but it be awkward. But the song selection too during those shows was also marvelous.

Haha. In my younger days, when I had hair (*sigh*), I could have arranged a hairdo like that hehe. No, this is one of my favorite Martin Short characters, Ed Grimley:

(It's not for everybody, but nobody beats Martin Short's body movements.)

Yes they were terrific.  I wish they'd do some more, but according to Guy, those days are over!   A shame, really!   ::)

I seriously cannot believe that in 1month & two days time it will have been 10 years since I attended this 'strange' concert at the nearby BIC....

Strange is the right word because after listening to a 'storming' first half set from MK (MK was in good, amazing form for this concert)
I was to witness people walking out on Bob Dylan mid performance and not returning.....

Same happened to me in Manchester!   By the middle of Bob's performance we were sat amongst lots of empty seats!

Unfortunatley, we left as soon as Mister Bob started shouting/Screeching or whatever you want to call it and left! Missing MK's performance with him..... >:(
