Anyway, I hope Banjo99uk enjoyed the show and wasn't distracted from the experience because of all that massive text messaging?  ;)

Don't care what the setlist was, MK is on absolutely TOP form. His voice was faultless, his guitar playing as good as it's ever been. And the band...WHAT a band. Very impressed with Ian Thomas.  They all played their hearts out. In rather a good mood after that. Best MK gig I've seen, shame it wasn't longer.

Pottel, dont worry they are in safe mode but MK is in excellent form. The songs sounded so much better than The Get Lucky tour. I also am liking Ian Thomas. Think he adds alot personally. The place was packed and no idiots moaning about a lack of Dylan. He told a brief story about him sleeping rough behind some toilets in Bournemouth. I stood in the bar next to Paul
Crockford and Topley. Great night so far.

Good to see A Night In Summer back in again.

people, how about this, posted by a fan on the ER forum about twenty minutes before bob started:
A few of us bumped into Bob on Bournemouth Pier. He was buying an ice cream. He chatted for a bit and said he was getting bored with same old set opener. We suggested My Back Pages and he agreed. He called Tony on his mobile and told him to get the band to rehearse the song as that nights opener. He then shook hands, signed a few autographs and stolled off to buy a portion of chips. Surreal day all round. Roll on 9PM to see the evidence.

and guess what the first song was tonight...already wrote to Guy to complain about the way Bad old Mark treats his real fans (and yes, i am being a bit serious here as well...fuck man, play some other songs for a chage, you can do it blindfold...)
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Made up probably. I think you will get a very nice answer from Guy about this. If you really expect Mark to change his set list every night only because Bob does, you are probably too confident... You don't really expect him to do that, do you?

any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Yeah of course, I know it is frustrating, but being a MK fan means you have to cope with it... Last year all started very well with the first US gigs, he had some unusual variation in his set of course, but this time it seems, the set is set in stone... uhm...

I never quite understood why an artist would choose to play the same songs every night when the have a large number of good songs in their arsenal. I would think it could get boring for them as musicians.
