The '64 sounds completely different for a start.  Probably best described as "smoother" I think.  I certainly prefer it's sound and have always preferred Mark's older ones too but I've already expressed that opinion here.  Of course through his current amps it's hard to compare on the same songs.

Personally I thought the difference between the three was negligible,  but I was listening on crappy tablet speakers.

I just managed to find one last minute after missing out a few times. There is one for sale on vintageandrare.com a shop in Rome I believe, a 2003 and the price isn't bad worth a look.

I've just bought the MK strat with the serial SE00100. It's in mint condition with all the case candy!

Looks absolutely gorgeous!

I can't call myself serial numbers fan, but SE00100 looks great to me. To me its even more gorgeous than Mark's SE00000 and SE00001.
Especially given the fact that actual first Strat which got sold in stores was 0100 one from 1954 (not Gilmour's one). Congrats, man!

foma, what's your complete gear ? I mean guitars and amps

Thank you for asking (although it was pretty unexpected for this thread). Nothing special really. My gear is simple as:

A Strat (1997 reissue fiesta red '57 body + MK neck), Gibson Advanced Jumbo, Martin Uke, masterbuilt Classical and Kala U-Bass.
As for amps, I have only one

Looked like a good one.  And like mine, it's the wrong colour!

From what I can gather, the early ones seem to be particularly good guitars, Fender really wanted to get it right for such a prestigious endorsee (apart from the paint!)
