Thank you for pointing this out. I updated the list again, now MK Solo have three rows :)

txt can be opened as excel, easy peasy.
send it to me, i will add the dates, see how i can get it started, maybe we can make it a forum effort, spreading the workload over a few volunteers?
up to 2008 (including we are talking some 1610 shows, split it up and it becomes far less of a gargantuan task
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Does anyone know if 'Dark was the night cold was the ground' by MK is somehow available as music only audio file? I mean apart from just being in the background in the documentary DVD Seeing In The Dark.

does anyone have an up to date excel (or other) overview of all MK/DS and others concerts ever played?
want to use that as a starting base, together with Foma's song overview.
to get to a "what was played where and when" overview.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I tried to create such an overview a while ago, see here:

http://oneverybootleg.nl/tourdates.htm

As far as I know, it is the complete overview, but in case I missed anything,  all corrections are welcome  :)

Hey Jeroen, although I visit your site quite often, I never was aware of this! Great list indeed! (And interesting for me to see that the first time MK ever played in Germany was in Hamburg, Sporthalle in May 1978.. )

Kudos to you for this big amount of work!

Sorry, I don't have it in a separate file, I guess you have to copy-paste.
Good luck!  :)

Hey all my fellow get-a-lifers. You know I love lists and I wonder once, how many songs Mark has written up to date? There are many collections, but they lack numbers.

So I decided to do a research. UPDATED 06 April 2014 (12 new changes).

All the DS songs (officially released as Dire Straits):

Total: 60

All the MK solo songs (officially released + DS days + couple of co-written tunes + soundtrack songs):

Total: 140

All the MK instrumental music:

Total: 68 *Double 'The Rocks And The Thunder' tune is not the typo (check original CD), but counts like one tune anyway :)

All the MK unreleased songs:

Total: 16

Overall total: 284 tunes, 200 complete songs (words + music).

Longest DS+MK lyrics: Industrial Disease
Longest MK solo lyrics: Song For Sonny Liston
Shortest DS lyrics: How Long
Shortest DS+MK lyrics: Say Too Much :lol

Size of the all MK and DS lyrics: ~0,2 MB

What did I missed or did wrong? I'll correct all my faults. Let's do the complete and spot-on statistics :)
hey foma, can you send this to me in a format like excel, csv or word???
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Shortest DS+MK lyrics: Say Too Much.  Too funny!  :lol :lol

"Shortest DS lyrics: How long" - is not bad either   ;D
