RAH 3th june 2010
« on: October 02, 2014, 08:42:42 AM »
I was listening to RAH 3th june 2010 this week and the I find it sounds strange :

Mark's guitar is very loud, while his voice and other instruments are very low in the mix.
His guitar sounds almost "soundboard".

It can't be an IEM recording, otherwise, Mark's voice would be at the same level.

So if it's an audience recording, the FOH mix this evening was very bad imho. And it can't be due to the recorder's place in the venue, because I can't see why the guitar would sound higher than other intruments on a side and not on another one.

Jeroen says it's  a"great sounding recording"

could I have another version ? and also strange, I don't have HFB in my version, but the rest of the setlist matches with the 3th june.... :hmm

I don't know. my recording doesn't content any note, text or something, and I don't remember where I got it.

I found this video on YT but it doesn't seem to be the same sound I heard last week :

here we can hear backing vocals from Danny and Guy, but on my recording, we can clearly hear the audience singing perfectly, and the guitar is far more proeminent

I checked again and I do have HFB... #&@!! copytrans/iPhone  :smack

I think I lost some of my hearing listening Mark's performing BIA solo at full power, standing front of stage (and when I say front of stage this with my hands put up on the stage and shaking Mark's hand at the end), straight in line of its amp. This was unique but definitively no good for my ears.

If you can go the the RAH for Mark or other go and try both Arena and Stalls (stalls are way better than the arena row over number 5 or 10).
