So I guess that 99% of the time he is spending at it is for recording purposes.
And, as it is a commercial studio he actually has to pay the studio to use it.

Mark does some interviews in a restaurant in Chelsea called "bluebird cafe" in Kings Road and in that interviews he says that the reason he does the interviews there is because he lives around the corner... That could mean he leaves not far from it and can be many streets around the Bluebird Cafe...

Running a studio costs a lot of money. You need to pay the techs, maintain the equipment, etc.

Yes.

The Studio is a commercial company, not his private property.

And Mark is paid by his records company to make the record so in the end this is the record company that pay the bill... and us the fans when we buy the record.
