Great Lyrics too....

Thank you, recon!    The lyrics of the song certainly seem to fit Lucien Freud pretty well.    ;)

An immensely enjoyable song.  Mark's slide has a kind of funky, groovy sound that gives the song a great uplifting mood to it and speaking of mood, I think Ruth's vocal adds something nice to it too.

I'd even say this slide in the intro summs up whole sound of the album and Mark's current music in general. I'd use that in comercial :lol

This one is a wee gem - quite a different song for Mark but one he does well - that light and bouncy Beatles/Kinks melody - terrific lyrics, great chorus - great song.

More Kinks.  I recall Mark saying in an interview he was "more Kinks than Beatles."

I like this song - but I don't think it will make it onto the setlist. Can't imagine MK is able to sing the "Skyyyyyydiver" part live.

I think with some harmonies that one could sound fantastic live and settle good mood in the hall. A bit like 'Daddy's Gone To Knoxville' does.

Lol.  He could leave this part to Guy!

Oh yes they can, because it´s a trick, there are three persons singing the skydiver and everyone starts one second after the other something like:

skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyydiver
            skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyydiver
                          skyyyyyyyydiver

That means that the first one (MK) can stop and join the other two just for "diver"

Easy  ;D
You might get lucky, now and then

Didn't Mark say he overdubbed his own vocal in one of the videos?

There are at least three voices singing it, one is Ruth for sure, maybe the other two are MK, I thought they were MK, Guy and Ruth, but live, it could work with MK starting, then Guy and Jim joining, and the three at once for ....diver

I also thought to recognize Guy's voice, but not sure, mixing can do a lot
