Cuyahoga Falls-5 August 1985 recorded in a lower tone
« on: April 18, 2016, 10:55:48 PM »
An awesome Concert recorded half a tone below of what it is real.
I saw no videos of the Concert
SOS and WOL versions were the best of the USA tour

it's also recorded with a very bad mix : Mark's voice is too much present. I guess it was a monitor mix for him
my version is the on from the silver bootleg "American tour 85" and indeed the piano break is alos missing

Same version I have!  Prior to a trade I also had Texan Sunset on which it was also missing.

THIS SECTION IS FOR STUFF UNRELATED TO DIRE STRAITS AND MARK KNOPFLER !!
calm down amigo.
nothing as unpolite online as writing in capital letters.
remember the days when all of you were still Young, excited about just discovering Mark/DS, and wanting to know everything, getting everything. also remember how this was not possible back in the early days.
it's the same with the new guys on the Forum, they are excited, love the Music (ALL that Counts) and want to share, ask, get, get to know.
we should all be a bit more agreeable/compatible.
Help the new People, even if they ask silly questions, with obvious answers, or do stupid things.
Remember at some Point in the past you were the same.
and yes, i also get annoyed sometimes, when i see some Posts appear, but then i think of what i wrote above, and chill. remember, no rules are broken here, or in any other recent post.
we are a fun Forum, for beginners and experienced fans.
@Pensa: only the first two sentences are for you, the rest is for everyone who recently complained. you know who you are.
no hard Feelings though.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Yes indeed, and I traded it with MK Live!  Picked it up at a record fayre many years ago.  Sultans on that is edited too, hence the mix up.

This recording was almost certainly made by someone who worked for the venue, Blossom Music Center, from the in house audio feed. The story I heard from an old 1980s era tape trading friend is that it was someone from the First Aid station. There are several soundboard recordings from bands that played this venue from the mid to late 1980s and they all sound similar in terms of a mono signal, low audience volume, almost no bass, and the vocals high up in the mix. This is quite typical of direct FOH feeds, since they are prepared for the venue audience and not meant to be recorded.  :)

I still have this recording on two Maxell Type II cassette tapes, but they are a few tape generations removed from the master. 30 years later, the tapes still play! It's amazing. Always loved the performance that night.
