I usually go to the concerts with a group of friend that always says things like "I have the feeling this could be his last record or/and tour" and luckily they are wrong all the times, LOL

Touring may be tiring with the past of time, but recording, as long as he keeps writing, I think there would be more records in the future and touring... I hope that when the day arrives, he decides to keep playing even just some shows per year like Clapton does nowadays.

Yes, I would be quite happy with just a small UK tour each year.  Very happy indeed.

As a man who even dabble in recording a bit, I can perfectly understand Mark taking a break in the summer time. You simply can't do it.
Like, things and people are constantly moving around, you can't focus on something, better to enjoy this "little life" as the poet said.

Thinking about the secret project, I've been asking myself about one of the theories we talked about him, the possibility that MK is working in a writing music for a theatrical adaptation of whatever...

That would means that MK made the music but when that theatrical adaptation obviously will have actors singing and probably musicians playing MK songs, but MK won´t be involved in that representations. Would you travel to wherever it´s being represented to watch it anyway? It´s composed by MK, but he´s not there like he is in a concert, but... it´s MK material anyway and the only way to "see it live"

Just wondering about this possibility  ;D

PS/ I´ll probably would go, I´m such a freak  :P

I thought about that, but nothing super secret here to NOT to disclosure it, do you seriously want to surprise somebody with a side project like that? Next level of surprise would be a tour with a symphonic orchestra—something nobody did before, right? Musicals and operas from the likes of Waters, Sting, McCartney was interesting, but frankly... not too much. I hope if Mark decided to do it, it will be really SOMETHING different. Sting's musical was lovely though.

And no, I wouldn't travel to it, because I'm sure the prices will be over-the-top, I'll let VIPs and other hardcore fans to rattle their jewelry instead.

Like you, I also hope it´s another thing, like a duets record with people like Clapton, Gilmour etc but... MK usually does not what we want, but the opposite LOL

I'm not a fan of musicals, so I probably wouldn't travel to see it performed, especially as musicals, especially in London, usually have over-inflated prices.    I suppose it would depend on who is performing, but I would probably just buy the CD/DVD.

I think it's a compilation thing, Jubilee related... DS or 40 years MK songwriting, with many guests, maybe like the JJ Cale thing, and therefore takes it's time. "Different" could mean MK is just guesting with guitar or additional vocals on the interpretations of his work by others... The Killers come to mind, Tommy Emmanuel....

Certainly wouldn't travel to London to see it.  If it went on tour then I may think about travelling 25-30 miles to see it in Edinburgh or Glasgow!  Even then I reckon I would have next to no interest in it.

I'm also betting on some sort of compilation release, hoping they'll finally release something from the vaults!

Except when they're looking for a "new" setlist!  ;D

You're wrong. They don't look back about setlists, it's just that they look forward to tea.
