Guy says on his forum bandsessions are planned for the new album. I wonder when the album is finished.. Probably at the end of this year

Jbaent/Julio did ask 2 questions (@Jbaent: you know Guy for years now, never ask more than 1 question  ;D).... It could be a 'yes' to his last question: or it´s too early for that?  ;)

Um... Did we really censor our forum cause Guy asked us to?

I think the MK management tapped on the shoulder of one of our mods and had a quiet word....

Its hardly the fault of the poster sharing the likely track listings for MK's new record, I saw the list and where it originated and again this list was a publically visible website - its hardly Wikileaks...!
i think i would know if that were the case, and i can tell you it was NOT!
fellow mods? did i miss something, believe not.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

We recieved a report from Jbaent. Guy did ask him to remove the songs on Amit and Jbaent forwarded the request to us mods. I deleted the songs from Amit.

So its my mistake i guess.

:clap :clap ;D
Guy could be the inventor of a new genre in literature
- Have you got the time? Yes
- Do you prefer travelling by car o by train? Yes
- is th project finished or at the early stages? YES!  :hmm

I'd say it was just a joke from Guy, I wouldn't try to guess which of the questions was the one for the "yes" answer :-)

"Band sessions underway" while Richard is on tour probably means no Richard Bennett this time round, right? Like on "Kill to Get Crimson" and "Tracker". To be honest, I somewhat miss him on these two records. I'm of the opinion that a second guitarist generally benefits Mark's music.

You don't want to unfold a candy until you are sure all present are at the table. Otherwise it is rude. I believe it's all about. Patient and respect would be the words here. No place for saliva.
 ;D

Here congrats for you Rail King!

He used to do this for years, and I don't think it is rude to present some of it before it is finished. If the studio diaries gave unwanted consequenses, he would have stopped after the first one, wouldn't he?  I know they have their reasons this time, god knows what, but I wish he would say *something*, like "now we'll take a break for the summer, see you in september". (I don't think we will get anything before September now, or worse, Christmas) Anything will do, I miss them!

They have every right to keep quiet about what they're working on, there's nothing "wrong" with that – it's just not too smart, in my opinion. They miss a ton of marketing opportunities. A photo here, a snippet there ... just imagine what would be going on in a forum like this if they'd let us witness their progress. Instead, a lot of people will silently lose interest. Not the die-hard fans, of course, but ones who don't necessarily google "Mark Knopfler" twice a day. These people - and they're the majority at every MK concert - will just turn elsewhere, somewhere where they're not being bored to death.

Now, again, passing on obvious marketing opportunities and ignoring how online communities are built and entertained these days is no crime. It's just not very smart if you want to make as much money as possible from your art. And while Mark himself may no longer give a fuck about that, rest assured that his outmoded hangers-on certainly do.
