Recording Prince's Trust 1983?
« on: October 23, 2016, 09:50:22 AM »
I know there is a recording circulating saying it is from the Prince's Trust show on 20th July 1983. When I had a first listen, it is 100% clear that it is actually Alchemy. Except for a few things; the talking intro from MK before Two young Lovers is different and also the intro for Going Home is different and seems from the PT show as MK mentions that they usually play for 2 hours but now have to go. Makes sense as that show was a double bill with both Duran Duran and Dire Straits playing so they had to cut their setlist short. So, to me it seems a mixture of the Alchemy source combined with a few snippets from the PT show. It would be great if there is an actual recording from the PT 1983 show available.

Some sources mention that the show was aired on radio. Could that be true? At the end of Going Home there is indeed a dj talking shortly. Maybe just a broadcast of some songs from Alchemy and somebody later mixed in a few parts from 20th July?

Does anyone know more about this?

Kind regards,
Jeroen

Listeing to it, I would say the first two songs are from the Alchemy Recordings, and the next 5 and announcement are different from the Alchemy (or diferent mixing).

I discovered a tool to compare songs one with each others, called Audio Comparer.

I´m starting to use it, but discovered, for example, that, Vaison 96, the last 3 songs are not from the day before, as declared in the info, but from Groningen 1996.06.06.

It really works to detect fakes.

whoooho, this tool is a  mine.

Other fake concert, 2001.04.28 - Newark 2001 (Performing Arts Centre, Newark, NJ, USA) is the second version of 2001.04.25 - Washington 2001 (Constitution Hall, Washington, USA), which compared with a better sounded of Whasington, is whashington as well. SO NEWARK 2001 IS A FAKE.

I´m sure there are more to come. F*ck those who create fakes.

Should I create a new topic to announce fake bootlegs?
