Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame 2017 (... here we go again)

A DS reunion just for the event would need just MK and John (who legally are DS, the commercial company), Guy on keyboards, Robbie on guitar, Ian on drums and Nigel on sax.

Despite what the OES booklet said, DS were, as a company, only MK and John, and the  rest were just hired musicians with two different categories, DS musicians (Alan and Guy) and additional musicians (the rest).

Not exactly, but during the shows he did remark "time for some Straitage" after the Hillbillies set.  Take from that what you will.

The folk singer Joan Baez of rocker 'n roll hall of fame 2017 did a really cover version of Brothers In Arms from Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler, which has not been nominated into Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.

Yeah, there is just no reason why he would want to be? perhaps only if he desperately want another medal on his chest?

Apart Mark's own decision I would see no reason for rejecting Dire Straits induction at the RNRHOF.

I mean you can reject receiving it or to play something for it, like Bob Dylan skipping the Nobel prize ceremony. But reject the nomination itself?

I might be mistaken but I believe that in case you accept the induction you must be available to play at the cerimony if they want you to.

The Hall of Fame becomes irrelevant when you are fully satisfied with your career and the recognition you get. Needless to say Mark probably thinks that's irrelevant. I happen to agree.

I haven't noticed that nor DS nor MK were inducted to the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame ever.  According to me it's a shame.. My question  is does anybody here knows why??

Dire Straits would deserve to be inducted but IMHO the RNRHOF is not a big deal.

I have more important things in mind for the Dire Straits legacy than this.
