This from MK News:

"Check out 'Johnnie Walker meets ..... Mark Knopfler', BBC Radio 2, 5 pm 29th December. "    :D

Maybe we will find out more about what's happening in the studio.   :think   I hope to record the programme.

Well I CAN'T WAIT for Mark telling about not having the hart for asking his dad for an amplifier and blowing his family's radio + bonus track — smell of a Fender catalogue.

 :lol  :lol  :lol

Thank you, looking forward to hearing this, I just don't expect much as you can see :lol

He's going to say that Brothers in arms is the DS song he would chose to play if he can play just one, because of those first notes he plays on guitar at the beginning...

We will have some info about this new project at a certain point so why not in a BBC interview  :think
Is it live in the studio or recorded earlier?

Mk appeared in some Johnny Walker programs so it might be an old programme or a new one with the same old questions and the same old answers so it really doesn't matter anyway  :D

Compliments of the season to one and all!

According to the Radio Times listings, this show was first broadcast in May 2015. I must have missed it then, so although there will probably be nothing that we do not already know it will be interesting to hear the 2015 versions of the familiar stories.

Apparently it a repeat of a show broadcast May 2015.
Just listened to the first show of the week, Johnnie Walker meets Phil Collins. That was interesting and varied.
Johnnie Walker is a great DJ and someone who has interviewed Mark many times before. He is interesting and relaxed and gets Mark to talk about lots of things. It seems MK is comfortable with him so should be a good programme.
But alas as it's a repeat there'll be no breaking news about his mystery new project...

Thank you for this link. After a hard day at work taking inventory, it was nice to hear MK talking, although he sounded weak and weary with a lot of unpleasing mouth and tongue sounds... maybe he had caught a cold or something?
I loved the Wales gig story. And which version of Sultans was played again?

Sultans was from the Honky Tonk Demos, LE.   I recorded this programme the first time around and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I loved the bit about Wales too, especially MK's Welsh accent and him imitating the way they said "encore"!    ;D

Great interview in my opinion, missed the first airing. Is there a simple way to download/convert this stream so it can be saved before it is removed from the site?

MK, look into a little program called get_iplayer. Excellent for grabbing bits and bobs from iplayer and bbc radio.
