Heart Of Oak
« on: February 19, 2017, 05:56:46 PM »
Just decided to throw my performance part out from the lesson since the song is just under 2 minutes.
I recorded the winter slush sounds on a separate microphone while recording the actual video.

Is it difficult? Does it have that certain MK touch or could Eric Clapton  had come up with the same song? Tell us what you think.

Interesting questions as always, LE! It's not that difficult to learn, I'd even dare to say it's easy (but it depends). And man — it's difficult to record, nearly impossible. Although it was a very early take, 2nd or 3rd, I made 20 takes afterwards without recording and still wasn't satisfied with the results. But I sing in an instrumental microphone anyway, so who cares.

Yes, this song is totally MK-only stuff. I think mainly because of the lyrics, but it has a couple of his favourite moves like G/B going to C, etc.

Thank you hola! ;D

Your playing is as flawless as it can be. And your words couldn't be more adequate. How can such a little song be so strong?

Keep up the good work, all the best!  :clap :clap :wave

Yo-ho-ho! Thanks. Yes, the song is so little, but one of his best for sure. I think it took years for him to write. Hence...

I'd love to express special thanks for your careful attitude to this little gem.

I can't just dabble on a masterpiece like this, so It must have been studied properly. Thank you!
