Do you know that, or assume they do?  I ask because the BBC destroyed some of their archive film stock a few years ago.  Indeed, much of their archive prior to 1980 has been lost.

I guess they should have it in full. Some years ago a version of "expresso love" from that concert saw the light, and it never was part of any broadcast, so they must had recorded the whole concert.

Was it channel four who recorded it? If it was, it doesn't affect what the BBC done erasing their files...

Bbc has for years deleted legendary performances in order to clear tape as tape was so expensive. But I too believe this was channel 4

sent from my galaxy s7 edge

There may be hope but what happened to the rushes?

It would be already great to know that the broadcasted material had been properly stored both in audio and video.

To release this several factors are to be resolved :

- archived material has to be retrieved. Sometime this is as simple as that : where it is?
- a producer willing to invest money in the project
- no any single right owner blocking the release
- no any right owner asking way too much money

I am pretty sure that Universal would have already released more stuff if allowed to.

Other companies will have done this too, although to a lesser extent since their archives will be smaller.

The Tube was produced by Tyne Tees Television for Channel 4.  They've probably erased Supergran.  :'(

The Beatle's live Top of the Pops performance, Mr Bob's acting role and even early Dr Who's have been wiped.

I had always  the feeling that this gig was intended to be released officially on CD of video.   See the way how the video is edited. In a very professional way for the mid 80s.  Better dan Alchemy.  Sound is mixed professionally by Bob Clearmountain (who did 'Heavy Fuel').
