There is an upcoming interview with Mark Knopfler about his brand spanking new album "Get Lucky" and his previous work with Dire Straits on a show that has featured exclusive one-on-one interviews with him before called "In the Studio with Redbeard".  Throughout this week of October 5th you can listen to the shows as they air live on the radio or you can wait until Monday to stream it from the site, www.inthestudio.net find your radio station at the site too.

The previous interviews with Mark are dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Dire Straits' self titled album and are 20 minutes long. I look forward to hearing the "Get Lucky" interviews too.

Smiley I think it was filmed during the Arena broadcast and it was also part of the origional "Universal" film clip for the release of the single Lady writer.

That's part of the job, I spend my days answering the same questions about my product. And he is his own "product"

I agree. I have been in the same job now for 20 years, and i find myself saying the same things, answering the same questions day in day out.
Sometimes i reflect on an answer or a bit of sales patter i've just given and almost laugh to myself that what i've just said i've said a thousand times.
You almost feel like a robot on auto pilot.
Mark must be the same. He could probably fall asleep answering the same questions.

I'd love to have the chance to interview him for just 10 mins.
I'd try for weeks to come up with some refreshing questions that would really make Mark think, revealing some answers to questions which us as fans had never heard as well.

Things like.......

Will Dire Straits ever re-unite?
How did he acquire his 1st guitar?

etc etc................ Grin Grin Grin

Cheers   BBB

Don't forget the biggie "So Mark tell us how Money For Nothing was written"  - have they not heard of google!!!

Having said that we are all now suffering from too many Knopfler interviews - remember the old days - mag interview in 1984, radio interview 1985 next one 1986 and that was an improvement from the previous years. Of course we used to have 1/2 a decade between album releases too. J

Yeah, every b-side was a nice surprise!  I've bought every album on the day of it's release since OES and I remember getting a metal badge with it.  Still got it too!
