More likely to be a "beta version" until they fix the bugs.
Updates anyone? Setlist, that is!

There's a rumour it really was played. I don't have any confirmation.
I do know he was wearing a pink shirt. That's something new!

Here is So Far Away!
Played with the Jurassic Strat and a pick just like 2008

Very cool! Do you know where abouts in the set it appeared?

Hi,
I confirm the order, someone (Zbyněk) who has attended the show has sent me the setlist.
I have already added several videos on the Prague page : https://local-hero.org/markontour/concert/2019/06/26

I have seen that strat being tuned by Glenn during Amsterdam encores. I wondered why, maybe they really decide the last song on stage?

Nice playing by Richard, closer to the album version.
Brass on everything these days it seems but played nicely by the two youngsters. Inevitable last word on the song by Ianto "Ego" Thomas ::)
Nice version but needs some more outings to get played with more confidence.
Mark's unsteady footing at the end really gives me a hard time. I so hope and pray we will not be presented with a Parkinson's diagnosis or similar by Mark later. From my point of view there are many hints to something really serious. Very hard to see him in this condition. Especially when you always thought MK had the coolest walking style in on Earth ever...

I understand your fear, I could look at him well in A'dam. It was as if he really had a pain in his wrist. Kind of cramping.
He looks very fragile physically, not mentally!

Thanks!
Interesting choice of order, You would think:
MFN
SFA
PTTE/GH
would make more sense, interested to hear the 3 in order to hear how it sounds,
Glad he's mixing it up a bit, I do have quite a soft spot for GH though!
-
I prefer GH over SFA but i am happy that he did not replace MFN with it :)
-
I'm not sure SFA is the song Guy was talking about. What kinda special trumpet mute does Tom need for this?
Let's see if there's something else in the pipelines.

Actually the mute doesn't had anything to do with they were rehearsing the brass arrangements for So Far Away, Guy just connected that they were working on them and Tom told him about the mute search he had saved on ebay.
-
Looking at GH this tour he has been really struggling with it, even using the LP. The LP totally ruins the song for me so in all honesty SFA is a step up this time, especially as it sounded pretty good and more akin to the album version.

When introducing the band in Antwerp he was sitting on his chair and when introducing Tom he said something like, tricky for me turning around like this. Could be nothing but looking at the way he also walks on stage one could say he has some (serious) back problems.....

SFA replacing GH not great imo
too many choices from the BIA album
-
so 3 encores all from Brothers in Arms + Your Latest Trick, not very smart imo
Piper to the end is from Get Lucky

give me 2 minutes to understand the situation thank you, I am new to the MK world
too many songs from BIA album overall in the tour and getting rid of BIA to get the overplayed SFA is not exactly very smart imo
a great setlist in Barcelona getting worse and worse and worse
I like David Gilmour live approach, both last 2 tours he played 90-100% of the new album + many good selections from the past,
MK plays very few songs from the album, sometimes even just 1, and then also a strange selection of past songs
-
Gilmour playes indeed more new music but it also took him 10 years to start a new tour. 2006-2016.
-
Plus for mixing things up.
Minus for choice of played-to-death uninteresting songs.
What gives.
-
I like both Mark and Richards playing on this, really good! Brass should have been left out but when its the final encore they need to be there so..

He's been struggling with Going Home, hence the switch to the most unsuitable Les Paul. Still struggling and looking ahead to the rest of the tour he's decided to stop playing it. SFA has been used in recent times to end the show.
I agree though, it isn't exactly thinking outside the box. It's typical of Mark to take the safe option, one they could play in their sleep. ::)
Seriously though GH has not been well played, it has sounded bad on the LP and has been very slow this tour.
-
Thats not true imo DMG, GH sounds very cool each show. No struggles noticed at all. They are just changing.

I agree. Haven’t seen any struggling. Guess they are just varying.
-
I was like you dmg, in that I was sad to see the LP being used for GH, but after listening to the majority of the concerts of this tour I've warmed literally to the sound and dimension the LP has given to this beautiful tune. I still prefer the Strat obviously and I'm sure he wasn't struggling playing it either to be honest..
-
Going home has been stunning this tour...interplay between mk and graeme is best I've ever witnessed..
-
So all you set list junkies have another tune to add to your spreadsheet.
Thousands of people get to experience a substandard finale.
Bravo. :)

Really? Something I have noticed this tour is the lack of chemistry between Mark and Graeme compared to last tour with Nigel when they always shared a few smiles.
Mark has needed to take a break half-way through GH since 2002(?) so in reality it's probably been a strain since then.

I loved Nigel playing GH in 2015 and especially at the Manchester concert. Graeme is a great sax player too, but I prefer Nigel - he has much more personality and rapport with MK.

You have a thing for speed, don´t you :) Nothing wrong with that, though - it´s taste.

:lol
Well, not really; I would just like it played at the correct speed. It is noticeably slower than the album version. :)

Needed? No, it’s just closer to the studio version, which has the same «break».
-
I have just watched the SFA video. I noticed a little brassies mistake at 1:39. They start to repeat the theme as Mark continues singing. Not that I care for mistakes but I like the relaxed « oops » face expression when they realised.

Indeed Nigel had the Chemistry....
-
Must say I’m quite impressed with Graeme’s playing. Indeed, his stage attitude is a bit more reserved and he seems a bit less connected with band and audience but in the end it is all about the music and what he plays is really very good if you ask me. For instance, the exchange of soli with Mark en John in STP is absolutely fantastic. Nigel is a great sax player but added significantly less to a MK concert when he was around compared to Graeme now. I remember many half-baked uninspired solos on IUTC and I never heard one good solo (start to finish) on OES. Concerning OES the same goes for Graeme sadly, I don’t understand why the guys in band don’t tell him (and Nigel in the past) to stop aiming for those long ear-hurting high notes on the soprano.
