Can't wait for the promotion interviews so we can get to know how he got his first guitar!

Or why he plays like a right handed when he is lef handed...

Or the smell of Fender catalogues

Etc

 ;D ;D ;D ;D :lol :lol :lol :lol

There will always be some promo. Not that he is doing that much for his last albums. Correct me if i am wrong but i see other artist doing much much more promo things when they have a new album..

Privateering and Tracker didn't had what we call showcases, small concerts, just some radio interviews and short tv interviews sometimes playing one song, probably because Privateering release was pretty close to the Dylan tour in 2012 and Tracker was released also close to the MK Privatracking tour, so there was not enough time to do some showcases.

As far as we know, from the new album release this autumm, there is nothing in MK schedule until April 2019 with the musical premiere, but it's supposed until then MK would keep working in the musical so, who knows if this time he would have time for some showcases...

I hope so!

I get the impression Mark doesn't enjoy performing live on TV any more.  I doubt he'll ever do a showcase again too if he's watched the AVO Session, which is regularly shown on Sky.

It all depends on the journalist who asks questions.
I can not wait for the questions about the RRHOF.  :think

showcases are not bad, that's where he plays stuff from the new album that you can't hear in the whole tour,

That will be a no-go area agreed prior to the interview.   ;D

Right. No questions about David, Russia and RRHOF. What else?

I wish he'd add the radio/amplifier story to the list!

Yeah, exactly. Boring journalist = boring questions = boring answers. It's not just Mark's fault.

The problem is that he doesn't really have a following among journalists, journalists who care deeply about his stuff and analyze it. They just cover him because he's a big figure and popular, but they only scratch the surface. Media darlings like Damon Albarn or Bob Dylan (if he cares to give an interview every decade or so) will get much more interesting questions.

With big guests it's all agreed beforehand what will be asked and what won't, especially when they are plugging a book, a film or an album.  Other artists tell the same stories in different interviews too, not just Mark.  What annoys me is that an intelligent man has been peddling these same cringeworthy stories since the 90s.  :disbelief

That may be true for big TV interviews, but discussing questions beforehand doesn't necessarily imply that the questions be boring.

Or maybe Mark doesn't have the heart to ask for better questions - just like he didn't have the heart to ask his dad for an amplifier.  ;)
