Do you remember Clapton was recording in BG while MK was recording his own cd, and after MK record was already mastered, Clapton went back to BG to continue recording?

One would say that Clapton cd would be announced and released after MK's one as MK had finished it before, don't you think?

Then, think again, if this is what Clapton was recording at BG...

You can pre-order Clapton new record already.

What about Mk new record?

What record?

LOL

This is a joke - isn't it?     ::)    :o

I think surfdog is Clapton record company... It rings the bell... I know that name is associated to Clapton...

Someone in Clapton's team had a little hurry... They should learn from Knopfler's team, they know how to take things easy.

Shame Eric can't use the song titles we came up with for Mark's Xmas album. He should've checked AMIT before recording  :lol

I'm really shocked!   :o  I was certain that it was a joke and I hope MK will NEVER make a Christmas album - they are out of date immediately Christmas is over!    Clapton hasn't made a decent album since "From the Cradle" - all the rest have been pipe and slippers albums and this one is really scraping the bottom of the barrel, sorry to say!   :(

Pilgrim, Reptile and Back home are really good in my opinion. Funnily I find From the cradle quite boring.

I agree that a Christmas album looks a dumb thing to do. Dylan also did one some years ago.

I have two of those - Pilgrim and Reptile.   Pilgrim is half OK - just!  I like River of Tears, Going Down Slow, She's Gone and Fall Like Rain, but that's about it!   Reptile is unbearable, apart from Travelling Light, which I quite enjoy, but that was written by JJ Cale and Clapton seems incapable of writing a good song.  Everything he does is either a cover or a collaboration with someone else.   The ones he has written are pure saccharin, especially Three Little Girls - yuck!   The third, Back Home, I listened to and immediately knew it wasn't my cup of tea - ditto all that followed!   Sorry, Eric!   :(

GF:

"...As for Mark's album, it doesn't have a September release date...it's slightly delayed that's all"

So we can assume that originally it had a september releasedate. New album and tourdates in oktober  :lol

Eric Clapton recorded a Christmas album?  :o

Yes, read this:

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/eric-clapton-readies-first-christmas-album-happy-xmas-713027/

Out in October.

https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/8470808/eric-clapton-holiday-album-happy-xmas

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/eric-clapton-christmas-album/

Wow! Didn't expect that. I thought I read in an interview with Eric that he was working on a new album featuring more J.J Cale songs.. I hope he will release that later.
