Can't you see lots of solo guitars in this vinyl?

I can see them clearly

Was just thinking Basil may be six minutes long but has no solo at the end at all.  :'(

At least it ends with guitar ;)

Basil was just about perfect.   An end solo could have been gilding the lily!   ;)
:thumbsup
absolutely, and not to mention that it wouldn't have told the same story anymore either.
I'm a six foot three albion but you can adjust the seat

No big names on nov 2 and 9. I think one off those 2 will be the release date if we have news next week.

Quote
The Layla riff is actually the riff from Albert King's "As The Years Go Passing By" so... Duane Allman is great I agree but I think you're giving him too much credit.

Well it are Clapton his words. I listened to the Albert King song and find it to be honest a far stretch that he borrowed it that way.

"When we had some songs we went to Miami to work with Tom Dowd on an album. We got so far with it. Someone had given me a book called The Story Of Layla And Majnun, which was a Persian story about being driven mad by falling in love with a beautiful, unavailable woman. I loved the name and I had the main body of a song that was obviously about Pattie. But I knew it needed something else. A motif. I realised we had something after Duane Allman came up with the riff." - Eric Clapton

However, thanks to Mikel to enlighten us.

I don't know why this came to me today but I just recall that in one of the pictures from Guy diaries Glenn Saggers was setting up guitars and one of them was that blue Gibson that MK used during the Dylan tours, this one:

Probably the colour doesn't mean a thing to the sound, maybe it's more about the guitar specs but I have to say I liked that guitar very much during that tour and when I saw her in the Glenn Saggers picture, it made me smile and wish it was used a lot in the record...
