Just wondering????
Apparently, according to Dave Pask (an old friend of Mark's)
there probably are some old dusty recordings of the 'Cafe Racers'
knocking around in an attic somewhere.
But I was also curious as to if there were any bootlegs from the
time Dire Straits were the support act for The Talking Heads &
The Climax Blues Band from 1977.
Anyone??

Leeds 30.01.78 soundboard is when DS were support for Talking Heads I believe.

I bet MK himself has got some soundboards recordings from the "Cafe Racers" days, well somewhere.
It's cash in the attic!
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

Apart Brewer's droop and Steve Philips recordings, there is a single song in the Lindisfarne BT3, from spring 1974, all officially released. And we've all heard the early duet recordings of a young MK. I guess the early and huge success of DS, had provided MK with the adequate funds to buy all the recordings he was a part of and feels are not good enough for release. On the other hand, I wonder if the record company has ever suggested or made a solid offer for expanded versions. I know that MK is strongly against such editions, with the good reason that if the other songs weren't good enough for release then, why should they be now. And I don't know if his songwriting back then allowed songs to appear in an unfinished form.  But I guess if the money from potential sales were good, the companies would have found a way. But the real crazy people about DS and MK's past relics are not that many, even with BD's standards.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Speaking of early stuff, is it true that the SOS demo tape given to Charlie Gillett had an extra completely unreleased track on it that has never seen the light of day since? Did we ever find any conclusive evidence on that or is the verdict still out?

Good questions.  I hope Sir Ingo Raven could give us an answer.
