No problem.  I always meant to do it before.  Of course, Charlotte Square (in the centre) is the real gem.  Many famous people from the past were born here including Alexander Graham Bell and it is the official residence of the Scottish First Minister today.

I think the story behind the link-boys would be a nice idea for a new MK song... :think

Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures dmg!  :thumbsup

I have been to some English towns and like watching the beautiful buildings with the big chimneys and facades!

We haven't been to  Edinburgh yet, but it is sure at my list and I hope to visit it in future!

Here's the web site of The Roxburghe Hotel in Charlotte Square.  Presumably this is the one Mark took his walking stick from ;):

I went into the city and took them all in one day (except for the few in the October set) and walked from Haymarket to Morningside, to the Grassmarket, then on to Waverley Station nursing a blister on my heel!

It wasn't exactly sunny - in fact, there was no sun at all.  Just cloud!  It was though one of the few days lately when I've had the chance to get there on a dry day and the forecast was for sun.

Thank you, I sure will!  ;)

Btw I have to admit that I didn't know that the song "What it is" is about Edingburgh. After reading your information I got curious
and read the lyrics again! :-[  :lol

Very nice photos!

First time I went to London, last century, I walked by all the places MK mentions in his songs. Sadly I was a lousy photographer at the time, there were not digital cameras available, and the pictures were not good at all. Just discovered it back in Brazil, too late to try another set of photos...
