Check the credits on the Shangri-La album. It was mixed at British Grove, and that was as far back as 2004.

That's right!

So indeed it could be possible they rehearsed for the tour there, as it was just opened probably they didn't have so many clients as they do now and they had availability  ;D

Just found Guy’s answer to a question on his forum from 2013, regarding rehearsing at British Grove:

British Grove is a recording studio and although we did rehearse there once…back in 2005, it was not ideal.

Well, in my opinion one of Mark's best tours came out of these rehearsals at the British Grove studio, they should do it more often :)

You are absolutely right!

In my opinion, it was't one of his best. It was the last one that was really good, which is quite different.
You might get lucky, now and then

Thats true, really looking foward to the new tour now! ;D. But I also don’t think the rehearsel location is going to make a reall difference in what he will play in the tour right?!  :think  ;D

I'm wondering how rehearsals take place? Are there playing a full show or only rehearse the tunes separately? :think

Has Guy talked about this process?

They rehearse all the songs at the same time, while MK plays sultans, Richard plays Paraguay, Ian plays corned beer city etc...

imo separately until MK is happy with the song then go to the next, when all done they probably try a full show

Seriously now...

They do rehearsals in two times, the first one they gather in a rehearsing room and they start playing the songs one by one until they learn them. That could last around two weeks.

Then the last week they move to a bigger venue where they play what is called production rehearsals. They play all the songs at a big stage while technics try the PA sound, the lights etc. When they end this process, they do a full show usually without any public to check everything is well.

Then they took some free days until the first concert.

I wonder if the boxer is a song MK would do again. I asked Guy but he replied SLQ and it would have been much easier to say this was a one time thing they did last year because of Paul Simon’s retiring.
Or perhaps Guy just wanted to make a statement for all the other questions he will get in the future about songs in the setlist. Well it was worth the try, maybe it will show up again at some point in the tour....  :think

To be fair, i don't know why you would want to ask Guy a question about the setlist if you have been following this or his forum for the last couple of years. He made the statement over and over again. However I seriously doubt that that song will show up again.

I thought that perhaps he would make an exeption because this was a cover and as far as i know MK plays rarely a cover. But you are right, it was better not to ask...

I didn’t realise that, the difference is they have new premises.
