I really like KTGC and on that album there are also not much uptempo songs. Still the album is one of my favourite.

You can put the album in your cd player and dream away to the great songs.

Some uptempo songs are great too but I think Mark has left that period behind him.

And maybe Guy just answered NO because he doesn't want to spill the beans.

I hope to hear some snippets in a short period of time.

Maybe I Am getting old before my time, but I can't seem to get enough of Mark's latest work.  So I'm not sorry to hear that it may not contain uptempo tracks.  I think Mark's songwriting gets better as a result.

I find it remarkable in a way that Mark's song writing is so often praised these days, whereas I find his DS days much more interesting in that respect, not just in terms of rock songs. I just think that the focus on all these characters and stories in his songs tend to make them less personal than before. While he's always been a story writer, songs like When It Comes to You or Where Do You Think You're Going have an edge to them that are just not there anymore.

I can't believe people are being negative about the album before they've even heard it.  :-\

One thing I've learned: don't listen to the descriptions of what the album will sound like before it comes out. Before the release of Golden Herat, STP and TRD we were told that they "sound a bit like Brothers in Arms".

So let's just wait and see.  :)

I agree about MK being 60, it must be hard to rock out Whats The Matter With You Baby i suppose, but how about some great songs like Summer Of Love and Secondary Waltz (demo) - great grooves, mature and stylish?

MK is maybe not interested in treading over old rock ground i guess, but i hope for expansions on his roots, like the Hank Marvin solo at the end of You Don`t Know You`re Born.
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

I have mailed to Universal Music to do some promotion at my website. So it is some concrete hope.

Hi, folks! Just want to throw in my "five cents" about song writing. DS was a great band (we all agree). But when a 30 year old sings about girls on the boardwalk, it's cool. When a 60y.o. still sings about girls on the boardwalk, it's creepy... People and tastes change. For me, the value of MK's songs is in the wonderful caracters he creates, people who can be just like us, strugling with the same problems, not perfect and not evil. And the songs themselves are full of love for humanity, even the less savory characters, everybody deserves regard and respect. As for energy, feeling and fire, I don't know, but i think the songs still got it. "Let it all go" made the hair on my arms stand up. And "Hart full of holes" still brings tears to my eyes. And dont't forget that almost all songs sound better life!
