Mark at 60
« on: September 11, 2008, 10:14:01 PM »
Next year will be a special year, because Mark will be turning 60, he is one of the younger classic rock guys around, with McCartney, Gilmour, Clapton, Waters, etc all over 60 already.
But usually when one of these big name artists get's to 60, there is a big celebration, and I am guessing there will be one for Mark, some live radio specials, DS history specials, maybe even a big TV/concert special, with lots of his musical friends.
So, with the fact I doubt there will be a new solo album next year, it could still be a big year for MK.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

I really hope not, it's not something I could see Mark doing, he does'nt need to, I can see some one off shows, with ex DS members players, but not a full DS tour.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Can't see any big celebration, you know how MK likes to keep everything low key.

Upcoming activity could be anything, don't get me wrong, i'd love a new album, and i hope i'm wrong :)
But I do feel there will be some kind of celebration around his 60'th, Mark does like to keep things low key, but i'm sure he could be persuaded just this once.

You got it wrong, again!  Gayleybob!  He's going to give you a quick phone call from MY house.  He wants to see the cows. He wants to be inspired to write songs about cowgirls and cowboys and cows and horses.    And he wants advice from the over-60 crowd.  You don't qualify.   ;D

I can tell you now, you girls can fight over him. This will be me from the sidelines: :o I am a coward. I could talk a good game, but I break into a sweat just considering shaking hands with him!! I am still in awe of Gayle! Now, in my private dreams, things are quite different...and none of you are within 5000 miles!! ;D

Ok ladies....that is a great idea......I think we don't need to vote for that!

I will be first in the queue and keep the original! :P .......As we all know a copy might sometimes fail and I can't take that risk! ;D

I wonder who will be next?
