Oh Wow!! Certainly won't be a skipper in my book! Very 'Hank Marvin' strat sound - I love it!!

Any way I could get a mp3 copy pretty please.......

By the way, I think Chuck would be proud hearing that sound! Seems like they managed to copy his work exactly after all these years.

This is my take on the meaning of the song: I don't think the message is that Mark is in some way vicious about the fact Beryl didn't get the booker price. Like some people write on this forum and on MK related facebook pages. You gotta see the bigger picture. In my opnion the message Mark is trying to get across is that people often get appraisel after their death and not during their lifetime. And Beryl is his metaphor for that message.

Certainly not a skipper. I am so in love with the strat sound. Amp could be the tone king. Quite sure actually. Listening to it know for a while, if we get an album full of tunes like this (prominent guitar, upbeat songs) I would be delighted. From a marketing point of view it's a good choice, this will be played on the radio. I'd rather hear Beryl than Redbud Tree if I was a regular radio listener and not a get-a-lifer if you know what I mean.

The sound reminded me something since I listened to Beryl.
And now I know what it reminds me : King's Call by Phil Lynott and No Money At All by Brendan Croker
Don't you think ?

I think there is some similarities with King's Call, but more like structure-wise and playing with major/minor.
The whole world listened to Beryl already, but still

Yeah a friend of mine mentioned In The Gallery lyric wise and it helped a lot.

I like the song. Maybe lyrics are too repetitive but i'm not looking for another it never rains or telegraph road. He is not capable of doing this kinda masterpieces anymore but that strat tone and Ian's tasteful drumming got me the first listen. When the man has a stratocaster with uptempo song, the rest is not important for me. Thanks to everyone in this forum who share this wonderful news with the MK world :wave

Opening few notes are very similar to the start of the 'True Love will never fade' guitar solo.... :wave

It's on in the background and being played rather loud!!! IT STORMS!!!

I do not understand why the song Beryl was public first and then suddenly it was removed??? And who made the mistake!! It looks like we're watching a Bond movie with top secret informations and spies!! Anyway i'm glad i got the chance to listen to this soooo highly protected song!!!
But it's written in the starlight and every line on your palm, we're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.
