I went there a couple of years ago and saw the James Bond and Top Gear car show. It's a stunning place set in a beautiful area. I just had a quick look for you and it looks like it has a train station called Bealieu Road and you can get there direct from London Waterloo in about 2.5hrs. That's not bad at all.

I live just 25 mins from Beaulieu. Not the most sociable by train as 'Beaulieu Road' station is a few miles from Beaulieu itself... not too far away from where a certain guitarist we all follow sometimes resides...

Is there any bus connection or something from there to the Palace?

Kinda found how to do it with public transport, train from Lymington, then the bus 112 to Hythe that stops very close to the very East End Arms (pub owned by John Illsley) and has also a stop very close to the Palace entrance...

but on the night there was no public transport after 10pm, and a total of like 3 taxis or something similar for the whole audience, i got realllllly lucky, coz i would've never made it back to my hotel in southampton, had it not been for the friendly couple standing next to me or most of the brilliant show, that offered to take me back as they coincidentally came from southampton,...by car.
great show
great atmosphere
watch the video JB...cannot find my ticket or the little brochure anymore...

Trains are from either London Waterloo/Southampton, Weymouth/Bournemouth or Lymington, then like you say catch the 112 bus to/from Beaulieu road...
