With the channel's title like that (BBC Breakfast) I expect Mark to eat a bacon roll live in the studio instead of playing.
S'cuse me, have you got my bacon roll?

Haha...you turned from negative about everything about Mark Knopfler 2018 to trolling everything..incredible.

Anybody able to record it and share it later? Would be great!

Thanks for the link. So I guess right now Mark is busy dealing with another 100 of retirees shouting "MAK", "MAK".

That was an hour ago, he's just finishing his toastie at backstage before he enter to the show ;D
-
Thanks for the link? So Mark was not there yet?
-
Commercial then Mark - Now!
-
Couple of minutes now
-
Yeah... "the Noffla"

Unfortunately I wasn't shouting "MAK", "MAK", so this is all I get right now, but until now I was able to see the feed. What's happened? :disbelief
-
Short nice talk, no song
-
He looked great!

Nice to see Mark and listen to him as always but no questions or chat about the new album - which I thought was odd - and the consistent calling him of "The Knopfler" was irritating.
-
Some screenshots

Seeing songs as children and you have to decide which school you send them to was touching somehow.
As I was comparing the meaning of his albums for me with children, too, once, when it was about which one I would love the most and that they stay with you for the rest of your life.

Really enjoyed it. Bit short though, I could have listened for ages. He really looked great!
-
Very enjoyable. Mark looked pretty good, I thought. :P
-
I like that screenshot better (was able to watch half of the show).
-
There was nothing new really.
Mainly talked about the Local Hero thing.
The already talked about - "A song is like a child etc."
Presenters were not really "suitable" for the occasion, if you ask me.
Quite short with no news or exciting things from my point of view.
I have to say (what I've been thinking for quite a while) that although Mark looks great, as always (with those light blue eyes and honorable way of speaking), I'm quite confused why is he going through
such an intense tour. Seems over the top...
Always fabulous to see and hear the man!
-
Lovely little interview and he loved talking about the song writing process, but not a great deal about DTRW...
Didn't seem too bothered about touring, wondering if given the choice he would rather do a small scale tour...

Actually I liked that they talked more about the musical that the record itself... well, they talked about Matchstick man anyway.
-
Just enjoyed watching and listening to him. He could have read the phonebook!
-
Yes he speaks much more fluently nowadays than let's say around OES or GH times. Such a down-to-earth man, no acting, no star behaviour.
I only wonder what he thinks about getting to the studio in London in the morning for three or four minutes. They could have let him play Matchstick Man when mentioning it!

The tour thing must be purely a contract thing as he didn't really want to talk about it... Again a nice little snippit interview.....

I doubt Mark has ever eaten a toastie or bacon roll in his life, certainly not recently. Travelling between his multi-million pound mansion and his multi-million pound studio via his pad in Italy and eating out in his favourite Spanish restaurant IN SPAIN, he won't be mixing with the common man eating bacon rolls in a greasy spoon.
Can't stand that show either. Or the BBC in general these days.

Knowing MK and his strong character, I'd doubt it's a contract thing.
Maybe the Croc "talked his way" into that, but it is still very strange. Moreover, if you look at the sales rate it seems also as a not optimized tour.
Sure, there will be many sold out venues, but also quite a few empty sections.
The most important thing is that there is a tour, I hope health and well being will not be affected (nor the quality and fun of the performance)

I concur, and like you think the Croc indeed had a big say in the touring bit. Maybe it was a good idea at the time thing... I can most certainly see after this particular tour MK being in residence at the RAH for a few nights and that's your lot....
Indeed, I'm like you looking forward to seeing and hearing the master 'Live' again....

Thnx Superval99 :clap!
-
Mark's reaction to the lady's words towards him "who knows the business [of music] very well" is just plain priceless.
-
Thanks superval99 :) Mark looks great.
-
I think he looks wonderful - just a little on the chubby side! :)
-
Yes. Matchstick Man ... I guess there was not a guitar.
-
Did he get his bacon roll this time?

ah yes I understand. You mean there wasn't a guitar in the TV studio, so Mark could not play a song, that's it ? :)
-
Yes. I was thinking about BBC Breakfast :)
-
Mark looks much younger and energetic than all the promo pics this time. Good on you Mark. Can't wait to see you in concerts.
