Well, what a gig!!! we actually did not enjoy it at all! :disbelief

To see Albert Steptoe as lead guitarist was ruddy awful and the bloke couldn't 'fingerpick' or even get the words across well either.
Absolutely dreadful versions of the 'Straits' classic's were played and we left the auditorium very 'scarred' due to this. I'm not a keen fan of the saxophone and what made matters worse was that it was used in every song last night.....

Up to you if you want to see them but be warned!!

Id rather wait now to see 'MK' next year or Not see a tribute act now due to last night!!
On that note we said last night that we have been spoiled over the last few years by seeing the 'real deal' in 'MK' 'Live' and long may that continue!!!

I know what you mean!! We have been very lucky to have seen DS/Mark 'Live' so many times that there is no need to ever see another DS 'tribute' act!!

I also have enough DVD's and memories to remember the good concerts we have been to!!!

All the best

But seeing Dire Straits live was a unique experience that no dvd or record can replace.
And many people actually did never attend Dire Straits live for real.

Thats the reason why The Straits are a very good chance, they not only play Dire Straits songs but also they were (three of them) the very same musicians that played that songs live with the real band...

Hey, don't judge all tribs on the basis of one. I saw Traits myself a while back and, lets just say they have their own take on the music!

To restore your faith, why not come along and see us at the Square and Compass in Illminster in November http://www.direstreets.co.uk/gigs.php  - reasonably down your way.

If you fancy coming along, let me know and I'll put you and your wife's name on the door.

We don't dress up - but we do play the songs the way they're supposed to be played. I can guarantee you'll enjoy it more than the last one, and that we're at least as good as The Straits. If not, you can write about it on here ;-)
