Simfy did not go bust whatsoever.
To be precise, Simfy consisted of several business units, one of which was the making, sales and distribution of digital live recordings. This is the part that went bust. The rest of Simfy consists of a streaming player which does not even work in my country...
Here is what I received from Julia from Simfy last year:

"
[...]
Our company used to have the live recordiung part and the streamingpart, and the focus was put to streaming, so the live recording part was shut down in 2011.
[...]
You are not the only one who does not understand, why simfylive was closed. But the point behind that is, and this is something customers do not know, is that the contracts that allows us to record artists includie very high advance payment. At some point a company then has to check if the spend money gets back by selling concerts. After 2 yaears of live recording the managenet decided to closed that part.

Greetings

Julia"
I don't understand their commercial logic : they've paid a lot to get a nice collection of live recordings and they quickly stopped selling them.
How did they expect their money back ? The investment is done, a website is costless, any order is worth 15 Euros, only benefit.
Well done Simfy geniuses  :clap

I guess there was a time clause in the contract as well. But you have a point there. Since they had no expenses other than the high advance and mixing, and the salary of the ones involved, they could stretch the time. It is not like we had a rival official release.  I guess many people like me and you that couldn't afford it  or thought of them unnecessary back then, would reconsider and buy them now, as downloads or sticks. (I would go for the sticks.Anyone out there selling?)

But answering to some questions about the download of the concert with the Box edition, being incomplete,  maybe that is why they couldn't include the whole show. In order to keep the customers of the sold Simfys at ease, that they still have something unique. And maybe there was a clause in the contract as well.

Come on, it is not funny anymore.

I recall that Pottel mentioned that some of the tapers were covering the tour until LA, if you read this, do you have news about any of the tapers covering the shows from LA?

Its been a while since the last recording showed up, and nothing later than San Francisco...

2 nights in Broomfiled were recorded by knopfling.  We'll have to wait for her to sort them out.
