Wow, completely different melody on the verses from the studio version.

Sounds vaguely like the tune to Remembrance Day to me . . . one song to the tune of another! I like insights like this that give an idea of how songs develop during the writing process. Interesting, thanks for posting the link.

Thanks for fixing the vid. It was really nice to hear Mark talked about the song he made.  We haven't been priviledged to too much of them.  Very nice.

I remember someone pointed out that the melody on the middle 8 was quite the same as an instrumental featuring on Gloden demos, guess instrumental #2

The instrumental was used as background music on a TV documentary on 30th June 1994  about The Swan Hunter Shipyard.    I thought it was a really beautiful melody and hoped it would be on the upcoming GH album.  My Claim to Fame was also played.  So when I first heard Behind With the Rent, I recognized it immediately.   Obviously it was one of those tunes that MK kept in his scrapyard for another day!

Yeahhh I also like the way he spoke about this song! It seemed he was very relaxed which is nice!
