Christmas album from Mark. Is it possible?
« on: November 27, 2012, 08:24:30 AM »
Hello, everyone!

Holidays are coming, and yesterday I posted a question to Guy about a possible Mark Knopfler Christmas record, since I have a feeling that it would really be something special, with Mark's voice and beautiful guitar playing on some of the Christmas classics, and maybe even some songs of his own...

Guy's answer: Ho ho ho

So, what do you think. Is it possible? Is it something you want? We do of course have The Ragpicker's Dream, which is a beautiful song, but I want more...  ;)

J
It's the end of a perfect day..,.

No way.  We have Chet's Christmas albums to get on with which are lovely anyway.

Guys answer should have been NO,NO, PLEASE GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :smack :thumbsdown

I couldn't think of anything more horrendous  :disbelief

I've been listening to lots of very upbeat, dare I say heavy, atmospheric, great complex drumming, awesome guitar solo prog rock recently. Eg. Porcupine Tree, Marillion, Dream Theatre.
I just can't get enough of it.

I still love Mark though (of course)

Cheers BBB

What do you think if all of us send a mail to PCM asking for such a Christmas gift like a SBD from 2012 recordings?

About time we had a full version of marks - 'Rudolph the red nose reindeer' rather than the snippet!!!
* Mark Knopfler - NOT just a hobby, but a way of life!

* Owner of Two Fender 'Mark Knopfler' Signature Series Stratocaster's (SE00616 & SE03805) both with signed Fender labels after meeting MK at Bridport, Dorset UK on the 27/09/2013!

BBB you keep on listening to them! I remember that you said so about a year ago. ;) May I suggest you also try King Crimson?
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Not a good idea to ask some people to write to PCM.  :-[
God only knows what we would say.  >:(

Edit: I remember an epic discussion at TR way back when it was released. And the second song Get Busy was rather disco if my memory serves me right...
