Yeah, I thought it might be an up-tempo bluesy thing. Les Paul, with a bit of distortion.
There's loooong solo after the motorbike bit, of course! Maybe something like in "Don't you get it".

And there are NO double meanings. It's only about writer's block. As you wish.  :lol

The cat, by the way, is the one from Elton John's "Too low for zero", and it's still in the way, as cats always are.

Already my favorite from the album! I got Heavy Fuel vibes from it. I wish the guitar at the end was a little longer but of course he's no longer young so we should settle for and be grateful for what we have. Could be ideal intro for a concert. He's a genius in crafting a song. Oh those lyrics! I'm sure Dylan is jealous. Nobody captures the daily frustrations of the middle aged white man better than our Marky. "please don't write me off just yet". Did I tell you that he's a genius? "put the cat out the door", I'm sure there's a double meaning hiding there. Even triple...

First I thought "chalk and cheese", but they're actually very similar in so many ways!
I'd just hoped to hear a bit more Geordie from Mark, his accent is so polished these days, but Brian and Sam Fender made up for it!

"...although I never thought I'd ever see them together in any format"

Me too :) Amazing duo!

Another bit of rubbish from my end, just for the fun of it. Don't even look for any rhythmic vibe!
Nothing to do with MK, of course.

DON'T WRITE ME OFF!

Can't get it done in the daytime
can't get it done at night
Can't get it done on the sofa
Something just ain't right

Can't get it it done with my left hand
can't get it done with my right
Can't get it done with a movie
and not even in candle light

I know you're waiting
Waiting for so long
But please don't write me off just yet
You know I won't be long

Trying to do it in the sunshine
Trying to do it in the rain
Trying to do it in the bathtub
But it's still the same
Trying to do it in the garden
Trying to do it on the train
Trying to do it in my leather gear
But it's just the same again

I know you're waiting
Waiting for so long
But please don't write me off just yet
You know I won't be long

I'll take the dog for a walk
and put the cat out the door
Maybe I can do it
lying down on the floor?
Gonna get out my motorbike
I know it's worked before
Gotta do something about it
I just can't stand it anymore

I know you're waiting
Waiting for so long
But please don't write me off just yet
You know I won't be long

I agree all the way, Robson!
Brian and Mk are a great team, although I never thought I'd ever see them together in any format.

The speedvision documentary was great, too! I wish there was a better quality version of that.

All the episodes are fantastic. It is a great pleasure and joy when I can watch them. I love to watch MK from a different perspective. For me, these documentaries, films have the same value as, for example, those from years ago:

A Life In Songs
Phil Cunningham meets Mark Knopfler
Guitar Stories Mark Knopfler Documentary (with John Illsley)

Kris-b thank you very much  :)

I always enjoyed the lyrics MK reads out in the Arena documentary and then he says something deprecating like, "So this is just rubbish really!" (paraphrasing, I can't remember what he actually says). But, of course, the poem, the lyrics "Sucker for punishment" are actually great with a superb rhythmic vibe.
