Thanks :wave
Anyone can do a live stream if he/she wants...
The only thing is needed is someone who wants to take the effort.

agree, it is quite a sacrifice to make, thnx to the person who did it the past 2 times. and as Jbaent says, everyone can do that sacrifice, if they care.
-
So the benchmark has been set after last night's storming concert in Madrid!! Wonder if there will be any suttle changes tonight??
-
WAM WAM WAM WAM WAM :lol, keep the rest the same as he seems tobe warming up nicely now!

Well, what could he comment? He is very loyal Guy and would not say that some song should definitely be played.

Would you expect something else. He never answers any setlist questions. If he does, he will get 25 a day.
He once did give the rehearselist for a tour when it was over. That’s the only time he did something like that. It was a few tours back. The only thing i remember from that is that they rehearsed The mans too strong but it was never performed live...

Right, Mark chose to develop HFB instead so not much regret about TMTS.

No did not expect anything, that's why i mentioned it was not SLQ but wishing him to tell why they seem to have skipped it. Playing in first show with amazing sound and then skip it, they must realise that fans are wondering.. i know he hates SLQ so no big deal...
Let's just hope it returns soon..

anyone there tonight to give us all setlist updates?

I thought that nothing could suprise me anymore in terms of irrational choices, but I have to say that dropping the (great, and well played with fresh new arrangement) opener after one night, to replace it with the worse song of the new album that is even worse than BB as an opener, is taking this to a whole new, unprecedented level.

Yes, totally agree, I hope they bring it back.. about NDT, fine put it in a different place in the set, but as opener? Big NO NO, the sax/trumpet featured very well in the Barcelona WAM. I was either hoping for this or WII as opener, seems were getting none of them except first night then :disbelief
I think they have used good openers in most tours... Broken Bones was maybe the worst at 2015, but yes I also think it's better than NDT as opener this time around... How do they manage to choose such bad opening songs? Don't they know which songs are the most popular among fans? Probably, just don't give a damn :lol
Would be so much better to kick the show off with WII/WAM, even B.R as in 2010 :thumbsup
-
All will be revealed very, very soon!!
-
yes cant wait!,
-
yes cant wait!,
Oh, the anticipation!!!!!

yes cant wait!,
We can't wait to hear WAM as first song, we can wait for NDT but we won't since it will be played as opener within a while :disbelief

Not sure if there is any sound tonight if you know what I mean....

I'm fine with NDT as opener and much prefer it to BB. In fact I'm fine with pretty much whatever Mark wants to play on this farewell tour.
P.S. I may soon be regretting this post! ;D

Indeed. One of mine and probably the best played tonight, although it buffered quite badly. Plenty left in it though.

Hi Amiters.
Have been following this forum for a quite a while and I am very excited to start posting...
I want to thank members for the "from the venue" updates and their impression on Mark and the band´s playing. I must say that Mark is looking in great shape. Have listened to a lot of youtube videos and I really like how he and the band is playing.
What you guys think about having Danny on board? To me, he is making a huge difference from a musical point of view, by spreading a lot of good energy to the whole band. But I thing he is also making a contribution from a personal point of view. It must be great for Mark to have a good friend sharing the stage and touring with him for the last time.
-
Welcome, Magolli - I'm a long time "watcher" here and just wanted to totally agree with you about Danny. He's always provided a huge dose of energy, going all the way back to '92. :)
-
Paraguay
-
Welcome Magolli!
-
I never been a big fan of postcards, but really love this 2019 version and think it suits it
-
Silvertown sounded fantastic tonight. Really great live song.
As for Danny, he's great addition. Apart from Ian and the Folkies, the rest of the band members, including Mark, are rather reserved, so someone like Danny is really important.

Great!
-
Welcome Magolli!
Thanks!
-
Danny is great on many aspects: great man, great pal, great musician. If there's one decision by Mark that I will never ever understand, it's why he had him replaced - whoever the new drummer is. He seems to have a great time on stage and I'm happy for him but he should have never left the band. On this tour, he should be playing percussion AND drums.
He was the best drummer for Mark, that's for sure.

Great to have Danny back in so many ways. I love what he brings musically on percussion too.
Welcome Magolli! :wave

Silvertown sounded fantastic tonight. Really great live song.
As for Danny, he's great addition. Apart from Ian and the Folkies, the rest of the band members, including Mark, are rather reserved, so someone like Danny is really important.
its great have danny back, have missed him when he wasn't in the band , it is an amazing band
-
I never been a big fan of postcards, but really love this 2019 version and think it suits it
It sounds fantastic, really.
Now, OES.

MFN
Noticed he sang 'MotherTrucker' yesterday....
-
Not sure, but I think they went straight from the keyboard part to the drum intro. No "I want my ...". Am I right?

MFN

Yes, correct it was the second reference last night....

The energy of the Spanish crowd is sick!

Don't like what Ian does in the intro and outtro of MFN - he gets this 'marching band' thing going. Totally out of place, IMO of course.

I'm reserved about it at the moment but I'm sure it's amazeballs when you are in the audience?? We shall see soon....

They're fantastic! I had tears in my eyes during his farewell speech due to their reaction.

As much I think PTTE is a lovely song, if this indeed Marks last ride he HAS to finish the show with Going Home. Always. Just my opinion
-
The brass section is a bit much on Going Home. Creates a big band feel on this one. Lots of energy though. Positive energy.

Agree. PTTE is too sad.

Yeah, as much as I love them on the tour they don't improve GH or PttE at all.

Like I said the other night especially with Ptte, please leave the brass out as it makes it too 'Salvation Army'

Can you believe there's a video up on YT already! Pretty crappy snippet of Postcards not worth watching though. But it's there! :o

I’ve not heard Ianto’s drum intro yet but I do remember how Chad’s drum into in 2001 really evolved and lengthened as the tour progressed. The drum part in the early sections of the tour was a bit basic in comparison to the July 2001 gigs when the intro to mark’s guitar riff often exceeded 5 mins and as a drummer Chad started to really go for it; exactly the energy and approach needed!
So pleased to hear Mark’s form gets better by the day, maybe he was knackered or under the weather in Barcelona, who knows!
There’s a few days off early May here and there. Given Guy has already said both he and Mark were up against it due to Local Hero work maybe some of the other desired songs such as OSAAT might already have been rehearsed but needed more time, so they may get chance to work these up a bit more to being happy to present these to an audience ... time will tell.

Another incredible evening with Mark and Co, atmospheric venue / crowd..
Given the amount of second hand smoke I inhaled tonight, I may have hallucinated, but am 98.9% mk missed the last verse of stp and the band, after initial chaos, went along with marks error...
Otherwise flawless stunning performance from mk, telegraph was the best I've ever heard..

Once upon a Time in the West

Much better than Barcelona, it sometimes pays to go to a later show.

A nice 'crowd' version of OUTITW... (thanks uploader!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAiCO0NKafI
After the stunning Barcelona performance, i was a bit worried by the following nights improv at Valencia, but... as 2manyguitars said in the Barca thread, I love that Mark is happy to 'wing it' and hope for the best! For me, I'm not interested in any analysis of TR, Once Upon a Time In the West is the song i'm wanting to hear night after night and see how it went. :)
Edit - different uploader to yours milicz, now I can enjoy more!!! :clap
Another Edit - They're clearly different versions? :hmm

These Spanish shows are mostly too late for me to follow, but what a great way to start a new day to read this thread!

Same for me Silvertown. I managed to watch Barcelona until the end, but then my brain was so excited I couldn't sleep! I agree, it's great catching up with everything next morning! Roll on my concerts and then I will enjoy everything live! :)

Yeah, hard to get up for work this morning. But once you pop, you can't stop :)

Confirmed..last verse of stp omitted...not a criticism, just am observation.
Band did well to limit chaos...
-
Excellent version. Really like Graeme Blevins on sax and Mark seems really "into it" this tour.

3:22 onwards - oops. Straight to chorus, forgot a verse :)
-
He did go to the chorus early, but the band and Mark didn't flinch, they just adjusted and carried on, sign of a good band.
-
When I listen to the end of Bacon Roll I feel like I'm listening to a song from Love over gold or On every Street, it must be the arrangements and of course the gorgeous sound of the Pensa, what beauty this instrument!

Even smoke in sports and concerts is forbidden... We are Spanish so, we don't give a Damm...
That's why I avoid Spanish concerts as much as I can and travel to Europe shows instead. This time the dates coincided with Bank holydays for me so I take the bother of attending three Spanish concerts, being one of them the opening and other in my hometown, I had to take it LOL
