Yes, Maxx, and it's the only place where I'll post this. Not so much effort, by the way. As for time, it takes two or three full listenings of the song with piece of paper and voila! Ok, I'll do Submariner next, great song too.

Submariner has some difficult time changes, but in other parts song is very simple. And beautiful of course ;)

Well, go ahead with the B-sides! Thanks a lot btw for the chords you figured out already, it's helpful to have chords figured out by a true MK fan. On the internet there's usually too many wrong stuff out there. :)

Thanks localhero1986! I'll say more, even official books usually goes too wrong!

I remember Ragpicker's Dream tab book, where you can find Marbletown done in standard tuning and without capo... that's sounds awful. Shame!

And bad rhythm guitar in Sailing to Philadelphia... the list of errors is endless. Not that I want from official books anyway.

Seems pretty accurate for Go,Love. Kinda not liking how alot of these songs on this album have similar chords from playing along myself but just moving the capo up/down.

Rare using of diminished chord in Blood and Water.

And in one of bonus songs Mark used half-diminished (I clearly heard it, but I dont picked out the song yet). Like in Postcards.

I can say KtGC was much more simpler, I've picked up all the songs by one take for an our. Here I put 2 songs for a day ;D

All other songs are just blues, 3 chords, can be transcribed on the fly. But I'll do it anyway.

Terrific work foma, u da man!

The opening chords to River of Grog are (I think)..

Am | C | F (F6) | E
with that nice little chromatic run up the D string between the F and E chords.

I was playing it all last night, very hypnotic and annoying to my family!

I'm at work right now so I can't play with it, but does the capo make it easier to play the pretty fills?

Impressive stuff, foma. Thanks a lot. You're not only able to pick up those chords by ear but also name them properly.

Have you ever tried Baloney Again? Some interesting chords in this one. I think I never nailed them the way they should be played. If you ever have time or maybe direct me to the place where you already transcribed those, I'll be a happy bunny :)

Yes, I've transcribed it, bot not on the paper. I've transcribe almost all MK songs by ear.
Baloney Again has interesting chords like Bbaug/C (Or Cm6b5) = [8x877x] and Bm6/Maj7 (Or D6aud/C) = [7x6776].
Names are very impressive, don't you think? ;D But sound is much better.

And finally, The River of Grog. My most enjoyable process of transcribing so far and my best transcription. And probably my favorite MK song.

Yeah, indeed, "River Of Grog" is kind of hypnotic!
Of course I'm saying this for musicians (real ones, I mean)...
Regular mainstream listeners of music will find it "weak" or "boring" or even "annoying"... but what can I say to these people?... Well, God save their (musical) poor souls... ;)

Last night I was on a circle of friends (all great musicians) and tell them that Mr.MK probably had written his best song of his lifetime (or maybe just in his whole solo career) in these last months and such a song was called "River Of Grog"!

Of course I tell them to put on their minds and on its right place songs such as "Once Upon A Time In The West", "Private Investigations", "Telegraph Road", "In The Gallery", etc... (these ones are... legendary marks in music history)!

Yes thanks again - im sure there will be many string pickers that appreciate the efforts you've gone to to share. Especially to put in the correct upper partials and bass notes too, Legend!

And by the way, Foma, thank you a lot by posting your (intelligent) interpretation of "River Of Grog"!
These last couple of days I was thinking about this song but I had no chance and no time to strum a guitar... You made my day now! Thank you once again! :)

Knighthood? Well... I don't mind if I do ;D

It's great feeling when somebody says a good word about your tabs.
Most of the guys, who do covers, reply with "sorry, no tabs".
I think it's better if anybody can play close to original.

Should I record videos for the songs? What do you think?

Yes MK strats are superb! the older the better I think personally.

The guy in my local Fender approved guitar shop wants first refusal should I sell one of them, I said 'never'!
I did walk out however with a brand new 2011 'Fender '50's Stratocaster' in fiesta red with maple neck!!
I just fell in love with it after having a go on it while the guy was servicing one of my MK's!!.

Be good to have an official tab book for the collection!

Hey foma,

I registered on this forum for the sole purpose of saying THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your great and accurate chords for all the new songs! I've been playing them over and over again! You don't happen to have the chords for the song "Follow the ribbon" as well? It's one of my favourite songs from the album (Don't know why it's on the bonus tracks, it should have been the albums final song) but I can't find the chords anywhere and I'm absolutely hopeless at figuring out these things on my own (and believe me I tried).

Any help would be highly appreciated :)

Because the writer of the chordbook fell asleep on Follow the ribbin, it's written in one of the posts.
He did an immense job giving us all the chords very quick after the release. HUGE RESPECT FOR HIS INCREDIBLE WORK!

Oh, thank you very much Ingrid! I obviously can do transcription of  "Follow the Ribbon", if I'll have time so I'll do it.

By the way, official tab-book hasn't got published yet. So all my transcriptions is a fairly good chance to save your time in trying to play MK songs. All the best!
