That may be the most ironic thing to happen in recent times.

It was a question of time.

So despite the claptrap (pun intended) he spouts he is in fact vaccinated himself. How irresponsible is he if he doesn't even believe it himself!

He had just the two doses, not the third, so probably when he got the virus he wasnt protected enough, if he was ever protected as he reacted bad to the other doses because of his health issues...

Vaccine doesn't prevent you from being positive to COVID but lowers the risk quite a lot.

I think a mistake on his website but now they say postponed on june 12??

must be a mistake.
it is the milan and zürich show that are supposed to be posptoned.
i also noticed the site says Vienna has been cancelled?
the Antwerpen Sportpaleis site makes no mention of any change in date.

21 apr 2022, The planned Eric Clapton concert in Vienna on June 4th has regrettably had to be cancelled as no longer being feasible in terms of tour logistics. Unfortunately, an alternative date is not possible at the moment.
Very strange official reason

strange, yes, plausible too. still hope the "antwerp is postponed" from the EC site is a mistake. pretty convinced it is..

As much of a loon Clapton is this is bad news, a lot of people will have spent a lot of time and money arranging to go to these cancelled shows.

141€ for a back of the house seat in the giant moloch that is the Antwerpen Sportpaleis in my case. so yeah, agree

You can get the ticket money back but I was thinking more of other costs.
Imagine MK cancelled a week at the Albert Hall because of covid. You had people coming from all over the world, flights, hotels, time off work, babysitters etc. Unless you live near a venue it's often the case that the actual ticket is the cheapest part of a gig.

A few years ago we bought tickets to see Madredeus in Amsterdam and at the very last minute they cancelled because of a "prior engagement"! We had a refund for the tickets, but our air fare and hotel weren't refundable. As we had booked months before for the show we couldn't understand how, at the last minute, they suddenly had a prior engagement. We decided to go to Amsterdam anyway and had a very nice evening with Ingrid!

Local news here in Italy says he is still positive and the 2 Bologna shows 20/05 21/05
are postponed... even if it's not yet shown on his site

Bologna Shows Postponed
Published // 19.May.22
Eric Clapton, whilst feeling fine in himself, has again tested positive for Covid this morning. Whilst there is a strong body ofmedical opinion that after several days since the first positive test, a person is no longer infectious, it is by no means agreed by all. Accordingly, Eric does not want to travel while still testing positive and take the risk of infecting others. There is also a risk that the Italian authorities would not, in the circumstances, permit his entry into Italy.
In theory, it is possible that Eric could test negative in the morning of either Bologna shows and fly there for a concert that same evening. However, Eric and his management team think that since it is quite likely that the situation will remain unchanged over the next day or two, Eric should immediately give notice of postponement of the shows in Bologna scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday to dates later this year.
It is felt fairer to ticket holders to give as much notice as possible of the postponement in the hope that this will cause less inconvenience than if we continue to hope that Eric would be able after all to give the concerts, only to find we have to announce the postponement a matters of hours before the concert.
We are aware that many ticket holders acquired their tickets (at least for the first Bologna show) many months ago, and Eric is very disappointed and apologetic to have to add a further delay.
The next scheduled concert forming part of the current tour will be in Berlin on Sunday, 29th May by which time we have every hope that there will be no obstacle to Eric being able to perform that concert and the remainder of the scheduled concerts.
The postponed concerts will be rescheduled by the end of this year. The announcement of the new dates will be made within the next two weeks, and tickets purchased will remain valid for the new rescheduled dates.

Yes, I really became interested in them when I heard their live album Lisboa. They have had many line-ups since that was recorded and the singer Teresa Salgueiro left the band in 2007. The concert in 2013 which we were going to would have had a completely different line-up.
