Rolling on...
-
Only on change in CT:
Donegan's gone came back (pun intended)
And very well done at that. IR
-
According to Isaac's diary "Done With Mitterand" the night before was changed and sounded fresh and new. Well, I wish I wouldn't ever never have to listen to that song live again, but if they change it a bit, why not! And "Donegan's Gone" on this tour seems to sound also new? I resisted to listen to clomplete boots and read a lot of posts here about a new intro and good participation of the new band members.

Did it replace any of the other songs, or was 17 songs played?

So Cleaning is gone now.

thanks allen, I hope he's not squinting his eyes because of the pain ! Make me feel so bad.

The new intro to Donegan's Gone comes straight out of Timothy Ferris's dvd "Seeing in the Dark" Guy and Mark wrote the intro bars to that.

A recording from this show is up on the tracker :)
-
2, not 1. ;)

According to this review they played Cleaning My Gun, rather than Coyote:

Which is right?
-
They played "Coyote". It was great and I sincerely hope it is not dropped from the set list. I like it much more than CMG. I sometimes wonder if some reporters are actually at the gig, or else they just don't recognise the songs! :-\
-
This is the 2nd time a reporter talks of a (wrong) different setlist, compared to the people who were really there.

Below the info-file from the recording on the tracker, guess this is right :P

Interesting that Guy and Glenn were singled out for particular praise by Ringfedder, as Guy notes in his diary they both had problems with their equipment during this show.
"During the show I experienced some volume pedal horrors with a sticky potentiometer, particularly apparent in the intro to one of the more well known DS songs later in the show. .I think VCA's are now a priority. Glenn Worf experienced a horrific short circuit in his in-ear system which meant he went through the entire show with virtually NO monitors. He commented afterwards that playing that song unable to hear the piano is an interesting experience."
Sounds like an eventful night. Apparently there was even a fight in the audience during "Piper" (wtf)
-
That's right, there was a fight, read Isaac's blog
-
Ingrid, I'm stupid I suppose, how do I find Isaac's blog? ???
-
Not at all dear! You just missed in in earlier posts. But prepare yourself, if you want to read it all it's taking hours! But it's really great to read.

I read about that fist fight too and couldn't believe it. That's what happens when too much alcohol gets served at gigs; according to Issac it seems some people were drunk. :disbelief

That is really annoying. That would spoil the complete show for me. And I must say one thing: Any security guard that would not try anything to get these
pissheads out of the venue would be in the wrong place in my opinion. Having a view on every little red LED light and camera is one thing, but keeping the
whole show on a civilized level is something that I rate much more important. I remember some very fierce security in Munich in 2008, it was 30 minutes before the show started, most of the seats were empty, and one guy in my row had a little camera in his hand. Immediately he came and rubbed it into him that cameras were not bla bla bla - and that was BEFORE Mr. PC appeared... That kind of thing is really ridiculous compared with a bunch of drunken winos... I think I would start a fight myself :disbelief :disbelief to get them out of any MK concert... (kidding of course...)

It should be forbidden to sell alcohol at concerts. Full stop. You can drink beer etc. on all 364 other days of the year at home on your sofa! I loathe people who stand up and walk back and forth during a gig just to buy more of that smelly brown liquid, it's so disrespectful and disturbing! :disbelief
I hope the beverage stands will be closed during the concert at least at the indoor gigs. I'm NOT looking forward to the two outdoor shows I'm going to see.
-
You both make very good points GH and LE. It should be illegal to sell alcohol at concerts and to me too it seems like PC management has priorities all wrong. Here in Scotland it is illegal to sell alcohol at football matches for example due to a riot in 1980 and I think it would be a great idea to do the same at concerts.

Interesting part of Isaacs blog:
This huge theatre also featured something I haven

In Holland that problem is solved very easily, you might have read it in one of Guy's earlier diaries:
Standing gigs, among the people there are guys walking around with beer in a can on their back, so you can buy it when they come to you ;D

I hate those fuckers with their irritating flags.. :-\
-
I don't :D Except when they are standing right in front of me for a long time. But having a nice beer during the concert is not too bad and I have to admit that concerts in Holland are most of the time not disturbed by drunken people, at least not the concerts I am going, could be different at concerts for younger people ;D

Call me conservative but I don't like these beer bag people either. They seduce people to drink. They should sell water and juice, especially when it's hot weather. But of course they don't! How idiotic is that? I have to give my water bottles to a security guy when I enter a stadium, I can't leave to get water during the concert because it's too crowded when it's general admission but I can buy beer and caipirinha! Which helps a lot if you're dehydrated and about to faint... I'm sorry, I don't mean to be a killjoy but I think it's unecessary. And I'm very sensitive when it comes to alcohol abuse and how most people still think that drinking is the most normal thing in the world. If you ask me, advertisement for alcohol should be forbidden, too. Again, sorry if I sound conservative, it's just my opinion. I have my reasons why I think this way.
-
Well, I do not drink any alcoholics never, nada, nie, and I managed to get nearly 40 years with it! :lol AND still have some friends! ;D I must say I was very surprised in a positive manner when I read that Guy said Goodbye to Vitamin G... And he looks good with it.. In his 2001 tour diary (Hamburg gig) he had this nice pic with the very special german writing of caipirinha a complete counter, and I remember those bags in some other venues, too! As long as everything is peaceful I can live with it but sometimes the vibes are somewhat "over-reacted" because of some people breaking the limit...
It seems that Mark hashad his "good" times also, and I think they all smoked a lot of weed away in the early DS years, but now he seems to be in wine more.
But I am no priest and everybody should do what he wants to. In Germany we have very severe problems with really young kids heavily drinking, and young means 10, 12, 13 years old, the hospitals are full of them at the weekends in some towns, and that is a real problem. And it is STILLl my opinion that a modern management should more be into prohibiting alcohol at gigs instead of cameras!
Amen!

Thanks, allen, but I would just like to say that when I see videos of this quality, I understand MK's dislike of them. Audios have so much better sound and that's the most important thing! MK is just a mere dot in the distance, so why bother! :-\

Yes, but when MK allowed video recording we could sneak in better equipment and the video's we got were much better quality. This is a direct result of the new policy; it is no coincidence that the standard of video recordings from MK gigs has dropped significantly since the policy changed.
We have a number of fabulous quality recordings from the S-L tour but hardly any at all and mostly pretty poor from the KtGC tour. I take it most of these are shot by mobile phones or compact digital cameras on movie mode.

Well, Sultans sounds really great! Would have loved to listen to that version live! It seems the seating stuff doesn't affect his playing the slightest,
on the contrary! Loved it! :-*

The Warner Wash.DC concert had quite a few drunks in the audience. I was annoyed by a few of them. One stupid lady kept calling out Romeo & Juliet --- EVEN AFTER HE PLAYED IT! The seats were pretty tight and every time someone had to get out, everyone had to stand up and squish themselves against their seat to let them through, blocking the people behind them. I had one guy that did it 3 times during the concert to refill his beer. >:(

Yes, this is another really great recording - one of the best, in spite of the really noisy audience. I agree "Sultans" was amazing. :)

The guy who uploaded these videos is Albanian like me.You can see that weird language in the comments! It ain't that easy to find people who like MK around here! It was a nice feeling!
Also the video screen at the side was really cool! I Wish those videos would see the light of the day sometime!
