By the way .. they messed it up AGAIN ...the names of two bonus tracks are reversed... Sky And Water is Don't Suck Me In and vice versa...

Did I miss an episode ? All these songs are available ? On a radio stream ? Can I get links please ? :)
How do you know in advance that this one Won't be played live ??

Just assuming since it's a bonus track.

This track could replace Sultans for me anytime. Imagine a break before the end ..only strumming ...

If Mark does not play it live, I kill him...
I guess it's recorded from the record maybe analog or somehow? All three vinyl bonus songs sound that way... As the source has put it online?

Straight from the first Straits record.
Like the rythm very much.

Thanks a lot ! :wave :wave
Looove the guitar work on this one.. i must say i am still very surprised that he did so much lead guitar stuff on this album, which is really great! Didn‘t thin we would necessarely hear that again after tracker
Hi,
As many I'd love to here this track and the others unreleased ones ;D
Can somebody kindly send me a link in PM please ?
I enjoyed so much this album and reviews are so great for this tracks I hope they will be more widely available 😉
the more I listen to this one the more it's absurd to me how this is not in the album
hope it's at least played live, it would be really great

I don't want to build his hopes up but I think Dusty will love this one.Looking forward to it. I hear the early leaks were crap so I'm waiting for good vinyl rips before I listen.

What can I say ?
Once again, the best track is not on the album :-[
It can't be a surprise anymore. These guys are profesionnals, their job is to make and sell records, they can't ignore when a song is a gem. You can miss one from time to time, but Kingdom come, Gravy train, camerado, Terminal of tribute to, don't suck me in... that's a lot.
And I don't mention the gems that made the cut on the album but not on the stage (Yon two crows ? Silvertown blues ?)
How could a song like that stay out? I really find Mark's song choices very interesting.Maybe because it's partly very similar to J.J. Cale's Lies?
Really love this song! Reminds me a lot of a Malpaso Gang song! ;) ;D

DMG said the same thing!

You know what they say about great minds? ;D

Considering he didn't even play rhythm on the first two DS albums, probably not :)
LE, guess on guitar after one listen was Gibson 330.

yes maybe.
I thougth it sounds P90 to me, so why not the blue pensa ?
This song really grows on me! I liked it a lot from the first listen, but now... I love it! :clap. I can't get enough of it! ;D
Would also love to hear this one live ;D

As long as they don't call the tour DTRW Tour and really mean that by playing the whole album :D
I would like to hear Marbletown and What It Is live as they were excluded last time in Sweden.. I know Marbletown was played on most other venues

It was just my thought, more of a "boxy" sound than the Pensa which actually doesn't sound that different to the Les Pauls. Also MK said in Guitarist magazine that he used the 330 on the album, but I don't have anything else to go on!
Had a first good listen to this track now (with proper sound quality). This song has great potential, but I feel both the production and Mark's vocals are too restrained somehow to make it really groove and rock. I can just imagine how it would have sounded with the original DS sound and Mark singing like he did on In The Gallery ("mmmmmm Harry made a bareback rider"). I know, 40 years ago and all that, but THAT'S what this song should have sounded like - in my mind ha-ha Could be great live!
Oh, and another detail. There's one little thing in the lyrics here that I stumbled upon: "A pessimist in advance". Is there any other way to be a pessimist? Isn't pessimism something that happens in advance by definition? You can't be a pessimist in retrospect, can you.
This might be a rare instance of Mark not being super careful with his lyrics.
it's true that Mark could publish a whole - brilliant - album with just B-sides by now. Even a double album.

definitely not the Pensa, could be the 330
I'm wondering if the first verse is a 'pop' at DS Legacy??
The third verse is legendary, and it always makes me chuckle. Perhaps MK had an 'Uncle' Frank who would bring 'crap' when he visited??

Maybe the "concert pianist" part is a pop at AC in that case... :think
"Eat you out of house and home" - reference to Phil eating the sausages! Er, or whomever it was... ;D
Disagree with your interpretation of the first verse, appears to be about a session musician of some sort.Yes I agree Dusty. On 2nd thoughts the Jap-pop & bubblegum rock era was well before the Deptford times. Almost certainly another muso though, but :think hard to come up with a likely candidate, specific to the 60's and early 70's?

Someone who was popular in the pop/rock scene in Japan and France?
Hi everyone.
Just discovered this forum. Great!
Had a question about 'don't suck me in'. First of all, another gem! does anybody know on which album this song can be found? i'm keeping the cd era in honor so I'm looking for an album that contains this song. Looks like an impossible search.
Greetings from Holland.

Don't suck me in and the other bonus songs can be found on the limited edition Boxset, which contains both CD and vinyl. If i remember right there was a download option too, can't remember if it was for the boxset purchases or any of the other editions.
Another good questions, but no journalist will ask that:(
