New album release autumn

So many things can make a slide guitar sound either great or horrible. Setup, strings, pickups, techniques, the slide's material and so forth.

If MK gets the sound he wants I'm fine with that. But there are so many other slide guitars and/or slide guitarists that perhaps would sound even better.

I think one issue is that his sound is super clean. For slide on electric guitar, I tend to prefer players with a slightly overdriven sound. Apart from the usual suspects (Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth, Ry Cooder, etc.), I think Richard Bennett plays great slide guitar. Maybe not like a virtuoso, but he has a nice sound. Didn't he play slide during Skydiver on the Tracker tour?

Yes, on Taormina it was the white 64 Stratocaster tuned to Open B flat but with both lower strings tuned to B flat. Sounds like a straight to amp solution with slight modulation effects and compression.

It could have been great with a bit of grit to the tone.

In my opinion the licks themselves are sublime but the execution and the tone could’ve been better. So much time spent figuring out the best guitar + amp + effects combo and sometimes they still fail lol

BTW, Mark - Taormina from the album sounds particularly good in this part of the world, come down here and play it live!...(though not Marbletown...that will send the audience to sleep!)  hahahaha!

Well guys I asked Universal M.Portugal whats the name of the album but they didn´t respond yet!!(and i think they don t tell me more until be oficcial)..I put in here(in the attachments) like i said in the other post i write,the foto(In Portuguese) of my conversation and the answer of the Universal M.Portugal to me saying that the album will be in November!!!cheers to all!!!

Honestly, where have you been the last couple of days? 

It's just that, release date November. If you think of the "two-month-rule" with announcing a new release, it's inevitably November isn't it? Which means we will get some news within the next 14 days. So all is cool!

It's just that almost everyone had assumed the release would be in November that it didn´t caused much movement... If it would had been an exact date, the album title, or songs etc, we would be talking about it endlessly...
