I'm left wondering if MK considers Early Bird such an obscure song that he has no qualms resurrecting its rhythm & melody? Interesting.

Given the fact that Jim Cox had to remind him that he wrote "She's gone" for Metroland I'm not sure he knows he ever did it.   ;D

So

It's somebody who has moved from a dodgy estate in London to California.

Could be a musician, a film maker (editing) or even a chef?!

Yeah.  It doesn't appear very specific at first glance.  We have Camden and Cockney.  Then LA (California).  We have the producer and screen door (film/TV?).  Cutting block, juicer etc. could indicate TV chef?

Also:

old one-two:
a series of two punches delivered quickly, one after another. Example: Tom gave Bill the old one-two, and the argument was ended right there. Watch out for Tom. He's a master of the old one-two.

Gordon Ramsey?

He is from Glasgow, and does have a restaurant in LA + different USA cook shows

Screen door is just this, isn't it?

Well it can be any kind like that yes.  Ones that block noise or section areas in the studio?  My mind was thinking beyond that really and into one of these huge trailers they give them too.  Should've explained.

The Glasgow-born thing put me off.  I thought Jamie Oliver or Gary Rhodes may be a better bet.

I took it as a screen door leading into the person's garden (nearby the lemon tree). They guy is at his home overlooking LA.

Probably right.  I'm getting a little overexcited here looking things up on a few windows at a time - chefs, posts, lyrics! lol :hmm

Could the Camden shuffle be connected to boxing?   "The Camden shuffle and the old one two"?   Boxers shuffle their feet. Just a thought.   :think

I like the song! There is lots of stuff in the track. I appreciate also the rhythm guitar, not just regular patterns. I also like the percussion sounds about mango slicing. Very nice!

MK loves a song about boxers. :)

Any London born boxers currently out in LA?!

A total shot in the dark...

I'm guessing it's about movie director Robert Day. He left England for Hollywood in the 60's and died last year.

His last film was called "The quick and the dead". He also made four Tarzan movies.
