Whatever our opinion about this concert, this is not the recording's fault.
It is really as good as an audience recording can be, done with highly professional material by a chap who seems to really know what he is doing. Look at the details in the torrent, this guy does not hesitate to go to a concert with a pair of hifi mics + a protable pre-amplifier + a state of the art digital recorder ! Only a soundboard could beat this... And even then, a good audience recording, reproducing faithfully what the recorder heard in the concert, can be better than a badly mixed soundboard...
So the technology is not at fault... let's focus on the music.... :)
I am downloading the second show now from dimeadozen !! let's compare !!

JBaent, I was not aware that it was you who made the Glasgow recording? So is it you saying "Hey  What It Is!!!" in the very beginning??  :)
I think the Glasgow recording quality was great, and this one is not bad either.

Maybe I have bad quality loudspeakers then...
Did not mean any harm. Great to have the recording anyway.
It was great to hear Yon Two Crows despite the bad sound quality..

Good night fellows

No, I knew it was What it is LOL

I never say a word when recording, but a friend of mine who was also recording... Lets say he "broadcasted" the show during the recording. After  "Corneed beef city" you can hear someone telling We just listened to a new song, "Privateering" in spanish... He confused the song because the reports from Dublin he read only mentioned that new song...  ;D

I haven't listened to any of the recordings, but I am looking forward. WOW, all these passionate responses!  Good or bad, it doesn't matter, it is all part of the fan, get-a - life thing.
I was going through some threads I have missed in the past, and I faced a very serious problem: Since some of them have very specific topics, I looked for info in them and I dare say that I struggled to get some "juice" from a 15 pages thread. So many replies and off topic subjects, (like this one I am now writing) that must seem fun at the very moment when you are passionate, but rather "cover" the information and the topic completely. Spending an hour to find something that it turns out was never there to begin with, is very annoying. I used search but you have to know the key words to be useful, and you can't know them until you have found them.
Maybe we should start a small talk (but big words  ;D ) thread (or open a dialog box somewhere in the page) to use as a common messenger thing for such ephemera.
Anyone has suggestions on how to solve this problem?
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

I might think about it.

Maybe we should give him some time. I remember listening to the first few shows from the US in 2010 and I was also not very convinced, especially about Border Reiver... But I still think today's clips are showing MK in a not too good state.. have been heard much better... And boy, when this Shakespeare
story comes up AGAIN, I felt like  :smack :smack :smack :smack... is he really serious? And all told in this sleepy manner... I think they are partying too much and should get focused more on the real thing...  ;D

LE

Yeah, this theatre thing comes up again and am I the only one who thinks it sounds a little pompous?  I mean does he really want to relate to his fans by assuming we all go to watch Shakespeare plays every week!
there were new comments too, i liked how he introduced the band, and again, i do not go for the funny texts in between, i go for the music. and yes, i gotta agree with whoever mentioned this higher up, one day we are all so excited and the next day someone starts moaning and all join.
and who the eff is talking about a piss pot recording here? Soomlos is the best around.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I recommend those who are depressed to go and listen the second show.
No YTC :( but Redbud Tree was significantly better than Winnipeg, IMHO.
I also listened to HFB but found it pretty similar to Winnipeg (ok, but not the best ever).
STP has a bit more interesting drumming than last year I think, it seems that Ian progressed on it (although it still prefer Danny's drumming by far).
