I think that the reason is the normal: they just think that it does not sound good enough or they feel uncomfortable to play it. Normally it is very simple reasons.

Another way of saying: reasons we wouldn't understand/appreciate properly?  Quite patronising.

I'd guess that they tried it and MK wasn't satisfied with the result.

yes surely, but I agree with dmg, it would have been simpler to say this way than in Guy's convoluted one...
