During the 80s there were a lot of action-series on TV. One of the most famous were 'The A-Team' and 'Knight Rider'. Another one, 'Airwolf', was less-known. Most of these series have one thing in common: the use of 'popular' music. In most cases it weren't the original artists, but (poorly) played covers. During one of the 'Airwolf'-episodes in season 3 they used 'Money For Nothing'. I've put a small part of this episode ('Birds of Paradise') online:

Loved that show too LE. In fact, I confess to having a couple of series on box set! They also used RAtR on one episode!

Yes indeed, and they did play it almost completely if I remember correctly.. I was searching but couldn't find a clip of that scene... :-)
I saw that episode on television when it was broadcasted in Gemany and went nuts to hear a Dire Straits tune.. after all, it was April 1988, I was 16 years old and fan of MK/DS since three 1985... (thanks a lot to internet, there is nothing you cannot find there)

best series, best song, worst quality...aaaarrrggghhh

That's a seal of quality right there. If your tune was played during Airwolf, you knew you'd made it big ;D

This aired 28.04.1987 the first time in Germany.
And I saw this episode the first time exactly on that day. Being 12 years old.
I immediately love this song. Also my parents did.
So last April this made me a FAN of MK for 30 years now.
Look at it again with a lot better quality.
This TV sequence changed my life.

For me THE best use of MFN is in this opening scene of "Kingsman : Secret Service" :

in the action in just seconds :)

Hmmmm.... call me boring, but no, sorry. Don't want to see any violence and Military "action" connected with MK, sorry to say.
