Which songs if it only was a single cd album ?

Hi,

I know it's a very hard thing to do, but which 12 songs would you like to have on the cd, if " Privateering " only was a normal single cd ?.
We can only choose from tracks on the double album, so please don't pick from the bonus tracks in this discussion  ;)
It's also about which order you would like to have the songs on the single album.  8)

Okey, here is my album with 12 songs. Hope you will enjoy it, but I know it's not easy to do.....  :o

1) Corned Beef City
2) Haul Away
3) Blood And Water
4) Kingdom Of Gold
5) Privateering
6) Bluebird
7) Today Is Okay
8 ) Redbud Tree
9 ) Yon Two Crows
10) Go, Love
11) Gator Blood
12) Dream Of The Drowned Submariner

You got a rather good list there. Really difficult to leave out 8 songs, but I'll have a try.

    2. Miss You Blues
    2. Corned Beef City
    4. Go, Love
    5. Blood and Water
    6. Seattle

Lovely list indeed  :). It badly hurt me when I leaved " Got To Have Something " out.... :'(

Just posted my selection of top ten songs on FB:

Redbud Tree
Haul Away
Privateering
Corned Beef City
Yon Two Crows
Kingdom Of Gold
Got To Have Something
Gator Blood and
Dream Of The Drowned Submariner as closing song. And maybe "Seattle" as a filler.

IMHO, the album would be much stronger with lesser songs. And with the suggested list it would be awesome to listen to it over and over again.

I wanted to add a poll to choose about 14 songs (more or less a standard cd release with many songs  ;D) with the 20 songs from Privateering, but choosing just 14, but dont have time to do it...

Anyone?

This seems to be the perfect list AND running order to me. I actually made a playlist and tried. However, I guess, MY album would not have a title track!  :lol The last minute of Radio City Serenade are a perfect closer in my ears...

Not going to try as I really can't leave out 8 songs to be honest...

I can make a 18 track cd as there are only two I would omit - 'Radio city serenade' and 'after the beanstalk'

That's very interesting. Those two songs are the only ones that I don't like at all  ;)
But that's only 2 of 20 songs, I really like all the other ones. Such a great record.

Hi Marikablue,
Yes I agree Submariner is heads above the rest and along with 'Piper to the end' as they are to me both Knopfler Classics.
Submariner seems to be the favourite of quite a few according to the MKNEWS Album poll closely followed by 'Yon Two Crows'.

I guess its each to their own..

Ps: Bonus tracks are not to be included among the list.....
