Rocking on...
-
Is there anybody.... out there ?
-
Well, at least Isaac! If he did not miss trains in Cologne....
LE
-
I almost met Isaac in Paris, he replied to my morning email 3 minutes before Mark came to the stage, by the time my mind was not on email at all and the iphone was lying on the pocket, by the time I exited, took my USB key, checked my mail and replied, he was already gone to his friend's place :( too bad, would have love to meet him and introduce to my 3 ladies the "crazy guy doing all the shows". Isaac was very useful to show my wife that I'm not that of a crazy fan after all :)
-
will bb messenge him tonight for the setlist.
-
setlist:
Border Reiver Why Aye Man What It Is Coyote Hill Farmer's Blues Romeo And Juliet Sultans Of Swing Done With Bonaparte Marbletown Speedway at Nazareth Telegraph Road Brothers in Arms So Far Away Piper to the End
so standard one.
would love to hear comments from members that were there...
-
This is not standard, this is 14 songs only... are you sure it was so short ? that you didn't miss some ?
-
yep. nothing more (as far as i got the info.)
-
No STP ?? Find it hard to believe. The plane take-off slots must have been very tight... ???
Anyway, no rarely played song is bad news for diversity, but good news for my wallet: I bought all the shows so far, because each time a new song would pop up ! Maybe I'll give this one a miss. I'll start buying again when Wild Theme, Going Home, Postcards from Paraguay, So Far From the Clyde, Tunnel of Love, or On Every Street will be pop up :d
-
..or camerado...
-
If somebody can explain to me the rationale as to why such as good song as Camerado was not put on the STP album, but instead on a bloody single that is nowhere to be found today... I'm interested !
-
and my claim to fame
and long highway, and ....oohh sigh...
-
We were lucky that these songs were released on extended CD single in glorious lossless format so no complain from me that they actualy did not made it on the album 8)
This was berfore we had to buy the deluxe edition to have the extra song and to buy the sh...y mp3. :(

Oh, where can I buy the extended CD single for the above mentioned songs?
How about songs like " What have I got to do?" " Pyroman" " No wonder he's confused" Where can I find them in lossless format? Actually where can I buy all the non album tracks in lossless?
I'm at the point where I can't derive much pleasure listening in crappy format! (MP3)

Pyroman was only done live.
No wonder he's confused was a demo from the Golden Heart sessions that "leaked", never released officially.
My claim to fame and Gravy Train were on the Darling Pretty CD single

Pottel, you were right re the setlist. The simfy recordings are up, and show 14 tracks !!!
So, we were Heard when we say don't suppress PTTE. But i'm not sure that our danish friends appreciated to be the only ones not to hear the acclaimed title trackpad of MK's most sucessful album as a trade off !!!
-
Better to cut nothing of course, but if something has to be cut a song that we have heard lots of times like STP is a decent choice.
-
There is a picture in Isaac's Middlefart entry with Mark wearing an ... interesting hat during at least the first half of the show it seems. Weather must have been really uncomfortable...

Hehe, I noticed that, too... He looks a bit like a German tourist ;D
-
Looks like the set was cut short due to bad weather. That is a lot of costly and irreplaceable equipment to be getting wet....
-
Got the concert from Simfy (note how they spell Middelfart!) and on So Far Away Mark sings "here I am again and rain has just started comin' down..." Issac says on his blog that it wasn't heavy though. Great version of Sultans, if fact worth it for that alone. Unfortunately, as with the Luxembourg one Mikes whistle is way too high in the mix on some songs: WAM and Speedway being two that spring to mind.
-
dusty, thanks for the link for those non album tracks.
-
Hi
The concert in Middelfart, Denmark was a mixed pleasure for me personally. Our group was in general very, vey pleased with it,
but I have been to around 10 DS/MK shows and this was not one the best ones. In my opinion. And it was not MK
-
Thanks for the review, Peter. Any more photos from this show?

Does anyone know the approx. attendances of the last two open air shows?
Always interesting...
-
Helsingborg was sold out. No idea what that means in terms of ticket sales though.
-
In Middelfart , Denmark I would we were around 12-15.000 people. Not sure though. No reviews has written the number.
-
cool, you can really hear the thunder at the end of So Far away!
good show imho...
-
Are you referring to the Middelfart concert, Pottel ?
I do not remember any thunder.... ??? maybe I was so wet and my feet in the mud, and trying to get the best of concert that I did not notice, hhmmmm....do not recall that thunder thing ;)
-
yes peter.
also, during TR, at about 5:00 you can hear Mark talk to (i believe) glenn bringing him the PEnsa.
i believe he says "are you sure it is switched off" and glenn says " yeah sure" (or something) anyone heard that??
-
could be the wind making that noise. I heard that on the Helsingborg recording too.
-
by the way Peter, got more pics to show us?
-
naa, really sounded like thunder...
-
Hi ;-)
I received my USB stick today, and we are listening all we can now, great !!...
It sounds way better than the actual experience, and regards to the "thunder" you can hear at the end of So Far Away and the start of Piper To The End, well I do not recall it but then again, the weather was awfull and it has started to rain again at that point. So I will not dismiss it ;)
Pottel you are right, me and my girlfriend just had a laugh, you are right about Marks comment "switched off" ;-) , we did not hear it the first time, but then turned on the volume and then its clear to hear.
(im the very tall guy on Isaacs pics from the day ;-) - if I knew he was there at the time (and close to us) I would have said HI :)
cheers Peter
ANd yes, I will put on some extra pics as I promised. Not that good but still.....
-
Pics are of course resized - cheers Peter
